Tomo-chan Is a Girl Episode 13 Review and Recap – Not Official Yet

Another hilarious episode of Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is here, and we are back again with its review. Today’s episode starts with Tomo experiencing the perks of love, where she gets constantly flustered because of June’s straightforward approach towards their relationship. He is almost cheesy in his flirting, and even Gundou and Carol beat him up because they can’t take it anymore.
But Tomo doesn’t want to be the only one who is flustered, she wants to see Jun be shy around her as well. Thus, Gundou gives the idea of initiating a kiss over a movie date. She even picks up a romantic movie with the couple kissing on the poster.
Such a stimulating picture is too much for Tomo, but she triumphs over her embarrassment and suggests that movie to Jun to commence her plan. But hilariously, the movie had more than just kissing scenes, and Tomo was way more affected than Jun, who watched the entire film with a serious face.
Seeing how even this plan failed, she suggests she come to Jun’s house even after knowing his parents are not home. In his room, after several awkward moments, Tomo just blurts out her intentions of kissing him and becomes successful in making him flustered. But Jun controls himself and reveals the reason why he can’t officially make her his girlfriend is that he hasn’t received her father’s blessings yet.

Apparently, he went to Tomo’s house to let her parents know about his intention of being with her, but that is when Tomo’s father put forward a condition. According to that, Jun will have to fight and defeat him in a match, and only then he would be able to be with Tomo. Hearing this, Tomo is livid and even goes to her father to declare how she hates him.
Though her father ends up becoming a depressed mess, he sticks to his condition as he just wants to see whether Jun is strong enough to protect Tomo, who has no regard for her own well-being. To protect someone, she will dash towards danger at any chance she gets, which is why Jun should be able to protect her at all costs.
Verdict
This episode was a mixture of everything it promises to deliver, heart-fluttering romance and knee-slapping comedy. This anime was an absolute delight to watch. Everyone who wants to see a good romcom should definitely watch this, and now that this series has ended, you can finally binge it.
Watch this anime on Crunchyroll.
