Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 5 Overview

Still From Tokyo Revengers Season 2

When the first season ended, fans felt endless frustration because of the massive cliffhanger of the last episode that left many questions unanswered. This is why the hype around this anime is insane, and we are sure it will live up to it.

Director Hatsumi Kouichi, who also worked in anime like Darling in the FranXX, Deadman Wonderland, Hunter x Hunter, etc, will handle the direction for the series. Studio LIDENFILMS which handled the first season of this anime will be returning for this season. They have worked on Koi to Uso, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Yofukashi no Uta, etc.

The opening song will be White Noise (ホワイトノイズ), performed by Official HIGE DANdism, and the ending theme will be Kizutsu kedo, Aishiteru. (傷つけど、愛してる。), performed by TUYU.

I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 5 Review and Recap – Planning For The Ambush

Still From Tokyo Revengers Season 2

Another episode of Tokyo Revengers is here, and we are back again with a review of how this episode went. Today’s episode opens with Kisaki, Hanma, Chifuyu and Takemichi discussing what to do next. At first, the deal between Takemichi and Kisaki was to only get information about Taiju together. But after learning that Taiju remains alone only on Christmas, Kisaki suggests they extend their partnership until they defeat him. Chifuyu, for obvious reasons, is not interested in the deal. But Takemichi knows that it is impossible for him to singlehandedly beat a monster like Taiju. Hence, he agrees to work with the very enemy he wishes to takedown.

Later when Takemichi meets with Hina, we get a shocking revelation from her side. We have all been waiting to know if there is a connection between Takemichi, Kisaki and Hina before they got connected with Toman. And surprisingly, Hina shares a pretty deep link with Kisaki.

It is revealed that Hina used to attend the same elementary cram school as Kisaki. Even though everyone else treated him coldly, Hina was kind to him and even walked home with him as they both lived near each other’s house. One day when they were walking down the road, they witnessed some older boys torturing a cat. Hina quickly went to save the cat, and Kisaki remained at the back as he didn’t want any trouble for himself. But when Hina gets bullied, a young Takemichi rushes in, acting like a hero with a cape around, trying to protect her.

Even though he got beat, he still attempted to rescue a stranger and even managed to hold his ground. That is the day Hina fell in love with Takemichi.

There is definitely more to this story, than what Hina has told us, and we might discover everything about the associations between these three later.

Another event happened, which answers the reason why Takemichi broke up with Hina when they were older. But that is something I will leave out so that you can watch the episode and find out for yourself. We also saw that Takemichi and his temporary gang, planning their strategy about how they will defeat Taiju.

Verdict

This episode was a delightful watch. It answered many of our queries and created even more questions for us to seek answers to. I will definitely wait for the next episode. Watch this anime on Hulu.
