Twitter is swimming with some really overwhelming Tiny Beautiful Things reactions. Hulu’s latest comedy-drama is based on the Cheryl Strayed book of the same name and adapted by Little Fires Everywhere’s Liz Tigelaar. It is a miniseries produced by Best Day Ever Productions, Simpson Street, Hello Sunshine, and ABC Signature.
The cast for the miniseries includes Kathryn Hahn as Clare (with Sarah Pidgeon playing the younger version of Clare), Quentin Plair as Danny, Tanzyn Crawford as Rae and Merritt Wever as Frankie. With eight episodes, each with a runtime over half an hour, the series has Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Lauren Neustadter, Stacey Silverman, Jayme Lemons, Kathryn Hahn and Cheryl Strayed as executive producers.
The series circles the life of advice columnist Clare, who is on the edge of her 50th birthday. However, even with age settling in as a growing and crucial factor in her life, it almost becomes impossible for her to hold it together as she is unable to deal with the death of her mother in her 20s, the intimacy with her husband, the friendship with her teenage daughter and her responsibility and affection towards her brother. With her life spiralling, the show gives us moments of joy and loss as we walk with Clare on her journey to understanding life.
Since the show’s release, Twitter is all good words about it. One of the viewers tweeted: “If you are a living, breathing human being reading this, you need to watch Tiny Beautiful Things.
