On April 6, Netflix and A24 released their collaborative project starring Ali Wong and Steven Yeun in the lead roles, but now we’re stuck with the question if they’ll be returning for BEEF Season 2 or not? Let’s dig in and dissect all that we know about the possibility of the series renewal.
Created by Lee Sung Jin, who also stepped in as the director of the series alongside Hikari and Jake Schreier, the ten-part first season also stars David Choe, Young Mazino, Joseph Lee, Patti Yasutake, Ashley Park, Maria Bello, Andrew Santino, Rekstizzy, Justin H Min and others. Over the course of the season, we saw Yeun and Wong’s characters cross paths during a road rage incident, which opened the door for many twisted and vengeful series of events, revealing their worst impulses as individuals.
In addition to the show presenting a new concept, its diverse cast adds to its winning streak and makes it a must-watch. Concerned with the frivolous dramas of modern life, it presents its two protagonist emerging from stark different backgrounds and consequences, yet Wong and Yeun’s fiery chemistry pulls them together, just as much as it pulls us to love their hateful connection. So, are they coming back for more in the second season? Let’s find out.

Will There Be a BEEF Season 2?
As far as Netflix comedies go, the OTT platform has majorly made it a point to renew such shows. Moreover, taking into account, this isn’t merely a Netflix production, but also has A24 playing a huge role in terms of contribution and its development, we can’t yet rule out the possibility of the show coming back for another round. Even days after the premiere, the series is going strong among audiences especially due to its original dark-humoured core.
Viewers, who returned as fans of the actors and the series alike after watching the show, have also praised how the storyline approached the characters in a non-stereotypical manner, which is yet another win for the Asian American community. However, as is often observed, some shows are green lit for a sequel early on, but so far there’s no official announcement for BEEF having been renewed for a second instalment.

Original plans entailed the series to have been served as a one-time meal or a limited series, as is the new pattern observed by various latest Netflix shows as well. Lee Sung Jin has even spoken up about how the show was supposed to be a one-time thing, but he’s also expressed his desire of wanting to delve further into the characters of Amy and Danny, if given the chance. So the ball is now actually in the audience’s court. If the viewership for the series keeps climbing high, there are good chances of the cast and crew coming back again, especially since they’ve expressed their eagerness to do so as well.
BEEF Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
