Kings of Mulberry Street Let Love Reign ending explained explores what happens to Granny Chetty and if Harold & Ticky’s rescue plan works. It is a South African children’s comedy film, written and directed by Judy Naidoo with a runtime of about 1 hour and 50 minutes. The film is a sequel to the 2019 film of the same name and the Sugarhill heroes Harold and Ticky in yet another heroic act.

The cast of the film includes Liam Dunpath, Shaan Nathoo as Harold Singh (Baboo), Hamish Kyd, Riyaad Nakooda, Kogie Naidoo as Granny Chetty, Kimberley Arthur, Amith Sing as Dev Singh, Bertha le Roux-Wahl, Mayuri Naidu, Luversen Gerard, Kaseran Pillay, Vaneshran Arumugam and others.

Netflix’s description of the film reads:

WHEN GRANNY CHETTY IS ABDUCTED BY AN EVIL EX-COP, TICKY AND BABOO RETURN FOR A WILD RESCUE MISSION, COMPLETE WITH A PRIZED NECKLACE AND A MUSICAL SHOW.

While on a sneaky night out Granny, Harold and Ticky get abducted by ex-police commander Veerasamy, who lost his job because of the Sugarhill heroes’ last conquest to catch the bad guys. He gives the two boys the only condition that they must steal a blue diamond necklace from one of his acquaintances, who is staying at the resort. If they successfully steal it, their Granny will be able to go back freely.

Warned off going to the police, Ticky instantly asks his parent’s help while Harold is thinking over if he should tell his father or not, in case he insists on going to the police. But when his father suggests him to get enrolled in a private boarding school, he joins hands with Ticky and his family. But going head-on & stealing from the resort room was not an option, however, looking at the cabaret show Ticky thinks of organising a Bollywood extravaganza show.

He convinces his parents to act like big Bollywood celebrities so they can stay at the resort & by distracting everyone through their show, the two boys will steal the necklace. They also involve Leila to help teach Ticky’s mother to dance and all their acquaintances from a local scammer to a van driver in their plan.

Insisting on taking Harold to go see the private schools in Johannesburg, his father, Dev also gets to know about Granny Chetty’s abduction and becomes a part of the crew, reluctantly. He becomes the manager of the whole show while we get to know that Dev actually has a girlfriend in Jo’burg and wanted to meet up with her no he can’t.

He mentions some details about the resort and his girlfriend Nancy turns up there instead, to meet with him. Stuck in a sensitive situation he tries to avoid her, in case his son or the resort manager gets to know about their real identity. Meanwhile, the preparation for the Bollywood show is going on with full energy, however, Harold’s love interest Leila is rather interested in Ticky than him.

Right before the day of the show & the steal, Harold comes across the letters from Nancy to Dev and feels betrayed by his father. Simultaneously, when he goes looking for Ticky to share his pain, he finds Leila kissing him and gets heartbroken. He fails to see how Ticky rejects her instantly and feels a double betrayal by the people he loves the most.

On the day of the show, all the guests and staff were distracted by it and that’s when Harold & Ticky sneak out by stealing an all-pass key & tampering with the security camera. They reach the person’s room where the necklace is kept and are trying to get the job done quickly but Harold, who was feeling betrayed starts complaining and in anger, locks Ticky outside where the security sees him clearly.

They catch Ticky in the restricted area and take him away for questioning while Harold who thought that the mission has failed because of him, finds his father in a distressed state. Dev tries to mend things by apologizing for not telling about Nancy, as well as the misunderstanding over the boarding school. Quickly they together come up with a new plan to set things right.

Dev takes the stage to stretch the show a bit longer while Harold tries to steal the necklace. One of the crew members gives security personnel some free food which was spiked with laxatives and thus rescues Ticky when they rush to the toilet. When they all come back to the show area safely, Ticky’s mother acts to fall down due to the stairs near the stage.

At this, Dev threatens to sue the resort & quickly tries to take his whole crew in an ambulance to escape. They finally give the necklace to Veerasamy, who lets Granny go back with them and even his own son Marlon decides to join her. But things weren’t going to end that easily as the person who possessed the necklace also comes there and has a fight with Veerasamy.

In the newspapers, it is reported that the stolen necklace has been found and both the men were found guilty of stealing it. While Harold also comes around and tells Dev that he wants to meet Nancy, as well as promises Ticky that he will always believe in their friendship before anything.

Kings of Mulberry Street Let Love Reign is currently streaming on Netflix.
