It is a sad time for The Time Traveler’s Wife fans as the show has been cancelled by HBO after running for a season with six episodes. Essentially marketed as a miniseries, the ending of the show did leave fans with hopes of renewal as the ending was quite the cliffhanger we did not expect to come across.
Created by Steven Moffat and based on the novel of the same name by Audrey Niffenegger, the show stars Rose Leslie and Theo James in the main role as Clare Abshire and Henry DeTamble, respectively along with Caitlin Shorey, Everleigh McDonell, Brian Altemus, Jason David, Kate Siegel, Desmin Borges, Natasha Lopez, Michael Park, Jaime Ray Newman and Taylor Richardson amongst others.
The Time Traveler’s Wife ended with the 36-year-old future Henry marrying the 20-year-old Clare as the 28-year-old Henry is stuck in the future with the 29-year-old Clare. We see the older Clare from the future point out to the younger Henry that he has not had a vasectomy yet (which the 36-year-old Henry has gone through to spare Clare the pain of miscarriages). But, the makers don’t take us further to elaborate what are the consequences or results of this seed of thought.

Throughout the show, we are also hinted toward Henry probably dying by the time he is 42 or 43 as he has never travelled beyond that. The series left this angle also on a cliffhanger. Here, let us address the three burning questions that could have been answered in The Time Traveler’s Wife Season 2.
The Time Traveler’s Wife: 3 Burning Questions Yet to Be Addressed
Will Clare and Henry have a child together?
For the ones who have read the book, it is a happy time as they are the ones who already know what is to come for Henry and Clare. As for the fans relying on the series, Clare and Henry do have a child together further down in the book when the future Clare ends up sleeping with a younger version of Henry (the one without a vasectomy). They have a daughter with time-travelling abilities named Alba.
What do the severed feet from The Time Traveler’s Wife Episode 1 imply?
Well, it was quite the shock when The Time Traveler’s Wife dropped one big hint regarding Henry’s fate in the first episode itself. At the end of the first episode of the miniseries, we see young Henry, who has just met Clare discovering a pair of cold, severed feet in the back alley. We know it is Henry’s feet from the future as it has the iconic strawberry-squashing birthmark.

This was a nod to the time, at the end of the book/story when we are going to witness an older Henry getting frostbite resulting in his feet being severed. This will in turn lead to Henry’s time travelling journey becoming difficult by the hour without his feet.
Who will die? Clare or Henry?
The ending of The Time Traveler’s Wife is really tragic. We are going to witness Henry dying in Clare’s arms after his time travelling journey gets difficult as he becomes a wheelchair person. According to the book, Clare does not die but, we see her perpetually waiting for Henry’s return.
