The brilliant adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger novel of the same name ended on quite the cliffhanger that makes us want to go back and revisit the series all over again. The 2009 movie is surely no help in curing the ever-burning desire to feel what the latest HBO Max miniseries made us all go through- love, pain, desire and fate, all at once.

Dark

Netflix’s thriller series Dark is much more than a suspenseful nail-biting experience. It is a show about love and destiny and, how over the years the fate of two lovers always ends up colliding. Co-created by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, the series consists of three adrenaline-filled seasons.

A German-language original, Netflix’s official description of the show reads, “A missing child sets four families on a frantic hunt for answers as they unearth a mind-bending mystery that spans three generations.” The show stars Louis Hofmann, Julika Jenkins, Andreas Pietschmann, Maja Schöne, Lisa Vicari, Lisa Kreuzer, Dietrich Hollinderbäumer, Karoline Eichhorn, Jördis Triebel, Mark Waschke, and Oliver Masucci in major roles. It delves into themes of existentialism along with time and its effect on human nature.

Beforeigners

Think of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow but, much more complicated and deep. Beforeigners is a Norwegian television series that starts off as a crime drama but, over its course turns into something humane and heartfelt. The series is created and written by Eilif Skodvin and Anne Bjørnstad, and directed by Jens Lien.

The first Norwegian-language series produced by the Nordic region channel of HBO, IMDb describes the series’ plot as “Beforeigners is about two persons who mysteriously appear in Oslo. They are the first of many from the past to seek refuge in the present time. Seven years later the community is transformed.” The cast includes Nicolai Cleve Broch, Krista Kosonen, Tobias Santelmann, Hedda Stiernstedt, Ragnhild Gudbrandsen and others.

Familiar Wife

Kdramas are just the jam this season and we could not stop ourselves from including one of the most lovely kdramas of all time- Familiar Wife (아는 와이프)! A beautiful story of how a man receives a strange chance to go back in time where he finds out everything about his life is different, including his oh-so-lovely wife.

Starring Ji Sung, Han Ji-min, Jang Seung-jo, and Kang Han-na, the show consists of a single season with 16 episodes, much like most kdramas out there. You can check out the show, here.
