Having left things up for speculation in December 2022, Stray Kids dropped a trailer for their upcoming first Japanese album, The Sound. Eventually, a quirky and animated music video for CASE 143 – Japanese version was also released on January 22, 2023, which further created more buzz around the matter and got the fans of the group, collectively known as ‘Stays’ hooked deeper. Today, i.e. on January 23, 2023, a new information video has been made public on their official YouTube channel that leaves a tiny spoiler for you to savour at the end of the video while also revealing the various physical versions of the album.
K-pop comebacks are always marred with several versions of a single music album hyping the the event. The same goes for the South Korean boy group formed by JYP Entertainment in 2017, comprising 8 members – Bang Chan (also the leader), Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N.
With the following availabilities staying at the top – Type A (CD + Blu-ray), Type B (CD + Zine), group version CD Only, and the FANCLUB member-specific versions – the album’s tracklist was also detailed to be consisting of 11 tracks – THE SOUND, Battle Ground, Lost Me, DLMLU, Novel, CASE 143 (Japanese version), CHILL (Japanese version), Scars, ソリクン (Japanese version), There and the titular song’s instrumental. The Blu-ray will feature additional exclusive footage including the Jacket Shooting Making Movie, THE SOUND Recording Making Movie, SKZ MUSEUM, CIRCUS Music Video, CIRCUS Music Video Making Movie, Your Eyes Music Video and Your Eyes Music Video Making Movie.
While the Type A version will have a photobook with 60 pages, Type B’ phonebook will have only 32 pages. Moreover, the FANCLUB member-specific albums are also ‘CD only’ versions. As far as the K-pop group’s Japanese releases are concerned, Stray Kids have previously presented the EPs titled Circus (2022) and All In (2020), both of which were released through the label ownership of Epic Records Japan.
