The Mole: Who Won the Netflix Game Show?

The Mole is a reality game show on Netflix, where twelve players work together in challenges to add money to a pot that only one of them will win at the end. Among the players is one person who has secretly been designated “the Mole” and tasked with sabotaging the group’s money-making efforts.

There are 10 episodes in total with a runtime of about 45 minutes. The show consisted of various mental and physical challenges, from working together to escape from a prison cell or following a map to find the hidden treasure, or even just deciding to not do something that could give them an edge over their competition.

The cast members competing in the series were Avori Henderson, Casey Lary, Dom Gabriel, Greg Shapiro, Jacob Hacker, Joi Schweitzer, Kesi Neblett, Osei White, Pranav Patel, Samara Joy, Sandy Ronquillo, and William Richardson. The show is presented by MSNBC host Alex Wagner.

Who Won the Show?

In the first five episodes, we saw Osei White, Samara Joy, Dom Gabriel and Sandy Ronquillo get eliminated in this respective manner. At the start of episode 6, they take the quiz again, where Pranav Patel got eliminated as he chose the wrong answers, based on his suspicion of Avory.

Followed by Casey and Greg in episodes 7&8. The eighth episode ends with another quiz elimination between Joi, Avory, Kesi, Will and Jacob. Out of these five contestants, one will be eliminated in the ninth episode and the other four will move on to the next stage.

The ninth episode shows that Jacob got eliminated from the game and now Joi, Kesi, Will and Avory remain in the game. They are divided into two teams, who must follow a trail to the summit of a mountain, finding three beacons along the way. At each beacon, teams can use a tracker to find ice blocks with money frozen inside and load them onto a sled before proceeding.

Each team can collect a total of $10,000 across the three beacons. For each ice block that reaches the summit within two hours, its amount of money is added to the pot. During the task, Kesi threw away the money ice blocks to throw suspicion on herself, while Will brought all the ice blocks to the top, and $16,000 was earned for the pot.

The next day, the group is presented with four briefcases and they must collectively agree to assign each player one of four briefcases worth $0, $1,000, $3,000 or $8,000. After the next elimination, the value of the three surviving contestants’ briefcases is added to the pot while the value of the eliminated contestant’s briefcase is removed.

Kesi ended up with the $0 briefcase; Avori ended up with the $1,000 briefcase; William with the $3,000 briefcase and Joi with the $8,000 briefcase. After the next quiz, Avori was eliminated, removing her $1,000 briefcase, meaning $11,000 was earned for the pot. Leading them to the last challenge of the show, where they had to get the money canisters, worth $5000 at three zones on Bare Island.

They lost the first two canisters and only got the last $5000 in the making, making the final amount to $101,500. However, throughout the show, they could have possibly earned about $250,000 in total, if there were no sabotages.

Moving on to the finale, all the cast were invited for the reveal, while the remaining contestants took the last quiz – to guess the identity of the mole.Joi had her suspicions about Kesi but she ended up choosing Will; Kesi chose Joi instead and Will decided on Kesi.

Who is the Real Mole?

After much suspense, the identity of the saboteur was finally revealed to be Kesi and a video was shown how, throughout the show, she was having meetings with the producers before the challenges. They showed how she tried to sabotage the team’s efforts at different points but got caught in the last challenges. That made Will the winner of the show and he took home $101,500.
