The Gilded Age Season 3 Episode 4 Reactions: Fans are Not Over the Developments This Week!

The Gilded Age has been making headlines recently thanks to its fantastic performances and divisive storyline. Set in the United States during the Gilded Age, the boom years of the 1880s in New York City, the series focuses on the rivalry between the new money Russell family and their old money neighbours, the van Rhijn family. The series has left fans intrigued and excited as it puts forth delicious and disturbing moments as the two families try to one-up each other.

The Gilded Age Season 3 Episode 4 was released on 13 July 2025 on HBO.

The Gilded Age Season 3 Episode 4 Reactions

The fourth episode focuses on Bertha dealing with unwanted rumours in the press, along with the surprise arrival of her sister, Monica O’Brien. Meanwhile, as her wedding approaches, Gladys remains sequestered in her bedroom.

Most viewers were unhappy with how things went with Gladys. One user wrote, @AudryForsyth: “Gladys, her pain, her sadness. I felt so bad for her.” Meanwhile, others were excited to see new villains emerge this season. One user wrote, @Inezprosper: “So Mrs. Russel is this season’s villain. I’m praying for her downfall.” The season has picked up steam, and HOW! Viewers’ opinions online have proven to be as much.

However, the biggest opinions have come in for Cynthia Nixon’s Ada. While most can’t stand the sight of her character, everyone unanimously agreed that Nixon had played her role well. Ada, it seems, is a stark contrast to her character in another now-running series, And Just Like That, also on HBO, where she plays Miranda Hobbes.
