The Forbidden Marriage Poster: King Lee Heon and Swindler Ye So-Rang are Ready to Fall in Love

MBC’s upcoming romantic comedy Kdrama The Forbidden Marriage is here with the poster and we are ready for the adventurous love story of a King and a swindler. Directed by Jung Hoong and Park Sang-woo, the drama stars Kim Young-dae, Park Ju-hyun, Kim Woo-seok, Yang Dong-geun, Park Sun-young, and Choi Deok-moon, alongside other cast members.

The Forbidden Love is a webtoon-adapted historical comedy that brings in a romantic tale which begins with a lie. King Lee Heon is unable to get over the death of his wife for more than 7 years which brings calamity to all the single ladies as they have been banned from marriage until the King remarries. Then enters the swindler Ye So-rang who pretends to have been possessed by his late wife and like this, the lie grows each day.

The poster of the upcoming drama shows Kim Young-dae as King Lee Heon standing next to Park Ju-hyun who plays the role of Ye So-ran as they stand against a lovely pink background that is filled with various symbols of love. The beautiful background takes Korean-style illustrations for the main poster which brings out the charm of the historical drama.

As Kim Young-dae brings out the aura of a monarch while standing straight and serious with a slight smile, Park Ju-hyun brings out the cute and naughty character who is not easy to restrain. The two bring opposite ends together and are ready to show us a unique love story that is not easy to complete.

As reported by Soompi, the production team of the upcoming show shared, “We tried to capture a Korean-style illustration in a unique way for the main poster. The rabbits beating rice with mortars, the cats wearing traditional accessories, the deers, and butterflies are all in pairs. Furthermore, the bottom is covered with peonies which symbolize a happy marriage, contrasting with the title ‘The Forbidden Marriage’ and showcasing how even law cannot stop the feelings of love.”

The Forbidden Marriage is set to premiere on December 9, 2022, and will be broadcasted on MBC at 9:50 PM KST right after Fanletter, Please.
