The Eminence in Shadow Episode 6 Review: Sniffing Out the Imposters

The much-awaited 6th episode of The Eminence in Shadow, also known as Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! (陰の実力者になりたくて!) is here, and it has again managed to deliver a delightful watch. We got action, new characters and many more from this already cast-heavy series. So without further ado, let us jump right into this review.

  • The Eminence in Shadow Episode 6 Overview

This series has garnered quite the hype after its release. And the credit surely goes to good animation, a relatable male lead and a bunch of beautiful anime girls who are sure to start waifu wars.

The anime is directed by Nakanishi Kazuya, who is also famous for his work with Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai SeikatsuTrinity SevenStrike the Blood, etc. Nexus studio is handling the animation, which despite not being very famous in its field, is delivering satisfactory results as of now.

I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

The Eminence in Shadow Episode 6 Review and Recap – The Next Opponents

This episode of The Eminence in Shadow gives us much-needed rest from the intensity of the previous episode. Episode 5 ended with Cid meeting a pink-haired girl who was a new addition to the cast. We had no idea who she was, and the 6th episode starts by giving us her introduction.

And we can already tell she will play an essential role in the long run. Introduced as one of the finest brains of the kingdom, Sherry is given an important task by Princess Iris.

On the other hand, we see Cid spending his days nonchalantly after breaking up with Alexia. He really is something; the way he acts and the way he carries himself in this fantastical world are so close to home that almost everyone will feel relatable to him.

We see him gather his boys and visit a shop that is famous for chocolates, something that has only recently arrived in this world. There, he is led to an exquisite building with a literal throne in the centre.

Apparently, the entire shop, along with the fancy building, belongs to Gamma, who opens it utilising Cid’s past knowledge. Cid, like any human, is flabbergasted and even laments that he couldn’t think of this before.

Hilariously, he even steals money from the Shadow Garden fund that Gamma accumulated and manages to get free chocolates. This episode had me laughing the entire time with his and his companion’s antics.

But it was not all fun and games. The episode touched upon a crucial issue from the previous episode, where we saw a group impersonating the Shadow Garden and carrying out questionable activities.

Not much has been revealed about who they are and what their goal is. But there’s a high chance of them being from the Cult of Diablos. This episode was very much the calm before the storm as it builds up tension and makes us understand how things can be in the future.

Many enemies are lurking in the shadows trying to destroy the empire, and their new adversary, the Shadow Garden. But Cid and his talented companions will not let anyone ruin their name or the calm and peace of the kingdom.

Verdict

I loved the episode as it was funny, entertaining as well as badass. We got to see the cute and clumsy side of Gamma, who is known to be the brain of Shadow Garden. Two new characters also got added, one being a new member of Cid’s squad and another a recent addition to his harem of admirers. We also saw a glimpse of the next enemies that Cid will have to fight, making us excited for the 7th episode to get the big reveal. Watch this anime on Netflix.
