The Consultant Trailer: Wicked Boss Causes Havoc in the Workplace

The Consultant is an upcoming workplace thriller series that will be premiering on Amazon Prime Video. Created by Tony Basgallop, the plot of the series is based on a novel of the same name by Bentley Little. The show is directed by Daniel Attias (2 episodes), Charlotte Brändström (2 episodes), Alexis Ostrander (2 episodes), Matt Shakman (1 episode) and Karyn Kusama (1 episode).

The series was first announced in November 2021. Academy winner Christoph Waltz will be taking up the role of the lead character, Mr Patoff. The rest of the supporting and recurring cast includes Natt Wolff as Craig, Brittany O’Grady as Elaine and Aimee Carrero as Patti. Elie Smolkin, Eduardo Enrique and Mayén are the show’s cinematographers.

The eighty-second trailer gives us an overview of what the show will be about. The clip opens with introducing the titular character, Mr Patoff, who is the new consultant of the company and is appointed to improve the business. Instantly ominous energy surrounds the atmosphere as the intentions of the new head seem suspicious.

The official head applies bizarre and unorthodox methods to understand the company’s employees. It visibly leaves the workers disturbed, and they start to question the motives of the newly appointed consultant. They think Patoff is a psychopath who joined the office to make their lives a living hell.

Further into the trailer, various violent and confusing incidents occur, disorganising the workplace environment. The thriller show is expected to deliver memorable, heart-wrenching and suspenseful scenes. Along with an ensemble of a talented cast, it can be predicted that the show will deliver some amazing performances.

The trailer also gives us a brief glimpse of the side characters and what to expect from them. Natt Wolff is one of them, and his character will be vital to the story. New actors are also part of the show, increasing the anticipation. A hint of dark humour in the midst of chaotic circumstances is a much-added addition to the plot.

With a total of 8 episodes and a runtime of approximately sixty minutes, the series will release on February 24, 2023.
