The Asunta Case: Everything to Know About Netflix’s Newest Mystery-Thriller Series!

The Asunta Case Plot

This fictional miniseries is based on a true story – the shocking murder of Asunta Basterra in 2013 that rocked everyone in Spain because of the mysterious circumstances. However, the 13-year-old girl’s sudden disappearance is not what rocked the nation – after police find her body next to a road outside Santiago de Compostela and investigate the circumstances, they come to the realisation that the little girl’s parents, Rosario Porto and Alfonso Basterra, might have had something to do with orchestrating the murder.

However, can the very people who brought her into the world also be responsible for taking her life? The miniseries delves into the various mysterious and unbelievable circumstances surrounding the baffling case and gives us something to ponder!

The Asunta Case Cast

Created by Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, Jon de la Cuesta and David Orea, the Limited Series stars Candela Peña as Rosario Porto, Tristán Ulloa as Alfonso Basterra, along with Javier Gutiérrez, María León, Carlos Blanco, Raúl Arévalo, Ricardo de Barreiro and Iris Wu.

The Asunta Case Release Date and Time

This drama-mystery-thriller series, also known as El caso Asunta, will drop on Netflix on April 26, 2024, at 12.30 PM IST. The series is expected to have 6 episodes.
