Shrinking Ending Explained

From what we know after watching the series, Shrinking Episode 10 starts on a bittersweet note for Jimmy, who assists Sean in the process of impressing Liz, as the new investor in his business. Before succumbing to some harsh criticism from Alice, who feels that his therapist father is moving on a double speed.

Initially, the episode sheds light on Liz’s wanting to be more than just a far-sighted investor and reveals her plan to become a business partner instead. Moreover, when she confronts Sean about the same, the ever optimist neighbour gets on board with the latter’s business idea, without a hint of obstruction.

On Paul’s front, the veteran therapist makes successful amends with his daughter Meg, along with his grandson. Notably, he is able to crack some jokes with his nearly estranged family, and finally have some peace with Meg. In return, he expresses his gratitude to Jimmy and hugs him as a sign of affection.

Even though Paul makes a recovery on the personal and professional end, he leaves out Gaby of the gratitude cycle. Therefore, when Liz gets a hint of Paul’s ignorant behaviour, she marches inside his office, only to confront him about his relationship with Gaby. As a response, the grumpy guy helps Gaby to secure her dream job, along with an entire monologue dedicated to her colleague.

In the end, Jimmy gets to officiate the wedding successfully and almost breaks down while delivering the best man’s speech. Jimmy expresses his real thoughts about the complete grief cycle and resonates with the entire crowd, including Alice. This helps him to let go of certain things, and finally embrace his present life.

The finale also concludes with two major developments, which might make way for a new season. Firstly, we get to see Gaby learning about her growing feelings towards Jimmy, with whom she has a no-strings-attached pact. Secondly, we also witness one of Jimmy’s clients, pushing his husband from a hiking cliff, as a result of her own unrestrained emotions, and some of Jimmy’s unsolicited advice.

The season ends with this grim cliffhanger and conclude things on an enigmatic note. Moreover, whatever the case may be, the season was filled with heartwarming anecdotes and a plethora of one-liners, which definitely makes it a must-watch.
