Shark Tank India has returned with its second instalment on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV. Shark Tank India Season 2 episode 22 titled “Making Big Businesses” premiered on January 31, 2023 during the 10-11PM IST time slot. Payel Seth is the show’s creative director, while it’s been produced by Studio NEXT, with Ravikesh Vatsa as its writer.
The show is hosted by comedian Rahul Dua, and graced by six judges, better known as sharks – Anupam Mittal Founder-CEO of Shaadi.com – People Group; Aman Gupta, Co-Founder-CMO of boAt; Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Vineeta Singh, Co-Founder-CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics; Peyush Bansal, Founder-CEO of Lenskart.com and Amit Jain, Co-Founder-CEO of CarDekho Group and InsuranceDekho.com.

Shark Tank India Season 2 Episode 22 Recap
Saurav Kumar, Niharika Jain and Vaibhav Agrawal open the pitches for the day with their business, ‘Broomees’, a platform for hiring trained help and reliable house help. Offering services across 150+ pin codes of Delhi NCR, the team’s ask for investment is for Rs. 80 lakhs against 2% equity. Introducing their sourcing channels as online (worker app) and offline (training centres), ‘Bromees’ has converted this sector of employment into a secured spaces for housing helps as well as they offer them with job security, medical insurance and other benefits.
Branding themselves as “India’s trusted homemakers”, their tech-enable platform helps people book cooks, babysitters and househelps. Other benefits offered to the helps include child education, interest free loans, female hygiene products and an opportunity to earn three times more salary.
With Tripti ji’s help, an associated helper working under the business umbrella, more light is shed on the company’s morals and values. Eventually, the pitch is mostly led by Niharika Jain, who completely wins the round and the Sharks’ favour. Namita and Aman form the first team to offer them a deal, which is followed by Anupam who hands out a “dream deal” for the first time as per the demands of the team.
Peyush joins in with Namita and Peyush for the deal of Rs. 80 lakhs against 3% equity. A counter is brought in to bring all four of them on board together. Hearing this, Anupam backs out, and the last remaining trio of Aman, Namita and Peyush is successfully persuaded by ‘Broomees’ to invest an amount of Rs. 1 crore for 3% equity in their company.
Ayush Varma’s ‘Ravel’ presents the second business pitch for a customised solution of hair problems faced by varied customers. With a sulphate and paraben-free mix, Ayush hopes for the world to start using his products and go through a hassle free experience when it comes to one’s hair. In order to achieve this, he requires funds of Rs. 75 lakhs for 2.5% equity to be shared but the Shark/s.
Having finally launched the company in 2021, his company gained sales of Rs. 1.55 crores during the January 21-March 22 timeframe. Being a completely bootstrap business, ‘Ravel’ has monthly net sales of Rs. 35 lakhs, all of which has largely been possible due to word of mouth promotions. With the repeat rate standing at 20%, and the sales rapidly increasing, the Sharks are bowled over to see the growth of the business, but still some oppositions are brought in as Aman calls the model “a half baked cake”. Namita, too, asks him to focus more on the haircare aspect instead of stretching out to reach other things.
Even though the business seems to be flourishing ahead, Ayush needs more input on the matter, and Anupam reaches out with an offer of Rs. 75 lakhs for 10% equity, with the condition that ‘Ravel’ needs to achieve Rs. 7.5 lakhs monthly profit in 2 months. Ayush pushes a counter for 3.5% equity, but Anupam has already placed a non-negotiable deal for him to accept, which he eventually agrees to.
For the final pitch of the day, loud buzzing sounds of honeybees pave the way for ‘Honey Veda’ founders, Hardik and Kashyap Joshi to join the set. Speaking greatly upon the importance of bees and how their existence needs to be persevered, their work is focussed on bee conservation, churning out pure, natural and unprocessed honey and also promoting sustainable farming.
Presently working as a B2B supplier, they hope to switch to the D2C model, and request an investment of Rs. 75 lakhs for 7.5% equity. Once the Sharks start tasting the product at hand, the Ajjwain flavour is announced as the team’s hero product. Leading an organic cause, ‘HoneyVeda’ has even trained more than 200 farmers in the practice of beekeeping. Their mission is finally supported by Anupam and Vineeta, who offer them a deal of Rs. 50 lakhs for 20% equity and Rs. 25 lakhs debt at 12% interest, while Aman stays out because he claims to have only one ‘honey’ in his life – his wife.
Shark Tank India Season 2 Episode 22 : Final Thoughts
The first pitch was my favourite one of the day because ‘Broomees’ sought to make an organised space of occupation into a more secure and consolidated front. Who would’ve thought that benefits like medical insurance could be worked out for househelps? Probably, barely any of us, but their mission is one of the better causes seen on this season which draws a balanced and dignified bridge of a give-and-take model of business between the hiring party and the helps, while, most importantly, humanising the latter’s work as well.
Coming down to the last pitch, i.e. the ‘Honey Veda’ pitch – somehow, this is the loudest I’ve ever heard any background music manipulating the scene on the screen. Is beekeeping necessary? Yes. Is it necessary to emotionally exploit a pitch surrounding the practice? No. Just when you think the show has understood the assignment, it goes down the same path of employing absurd tactics to pull the audience in, which, obviously, do the exact opposite.
