Transform Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible Episode 4

Guess who this episode started with as the first character we hear speak? Seita! The show knows who the money-maker is and who is going to be topping character popularity charts if the show ever does one. On a serious note, Seita is seriously cute, and his relationship with Junta, his older brother, is a highlight of every episode they’re in. The way Junta isn’t embarrassed by him and loves spending time with him and how Seita isn’t annoying to anyone and has unconditional love and admiration for his brother is heartwarming.

The characters of Junta and Nagisa have become clearer as the show has had the time to elaborate on them and tell more stories that feature them. From the top, they are no different than a regular pair of friends who love to mess with each other (well, at least one of them) and secretly harbour a crush on the other (again, at least one of them). Wait, looks like both of these aren’t very strong connections. Let’s try again. They’re friends who share a unique bond, and one of them is secretly in love with the other. The other one isn’t aware of that, which causes a lot of shenanigans.

So, how many anime did that exactly remind you of? Was it two, maybe three? Some might even be able to think of five or more. So what exactly does this show do to stand out? Nothing, really. It just does its own thing and hopes to get some recognition for being a sweet and relaxing show that you watch while curled up in your bed. There’s nothing wrong with being that; what the show has tried has worked very well so far. Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible Episode 4 was a great outing that featured three stories that were all on varying levels of sweetness.

We have already discussed the Seita section, so let’s move on to the coffee date between Junta and Nagisa. Nagisa being the one always to initiate any activities the duo partake in is a touch that makes a lot of sense with the way these characters are written, and makes her come across as a lot more vibrant and cheerful character than she otherwise might have. She has very few things that make her stand out from female protagonists of other romance anime, so this was sorely needed and works well for her.

Nagisa is also someone who is willing to go very far to showcase her appreciation for someone, and the valentine’s day segment in Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible Episode 4 was made much more adorable because of this. Putting aside the usual trope of not confessing to make the chase last longer, it was an effective way to make Nagisa a much more likeable protagonist. Her relationship with her sister is almost as adorable as the one Junta and Seita share but in a different way.

Verdict

Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible Episode 4 was another lovely outing where the show managed once again to kill all of us with cuteness. I have started to look forward to Tuesday nights.
