In a recent press event for the film Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan sat down to reveal all about his box-office-breaking film, his repertoire with his cast and what he did in the past 4 years when he was supposedly ‘on a break’. The interviewers asked him what he was up to in the past years and the actor had some witty and introspective responses ready to let out.
He said that in the past four years, “I mean 1-2 years because we were not working at all in between, so the two years have had some good parts and some bad parts, like in all our lives because of COVID. And it was the same for me. During the 1-2 years I didn’t work, I wanted to be with the children and the good part is that I could see them grow up, Aryan, Abram, Suhana and I could spend time with my family and friends.”
While that sums up his genuine answer, here comes the witty response that we all have witnessed in his #AskSRK sessions. He continued, “The second best part was that my last film didn’t work and people started saying that my films won’t work anymore, so I started thinking about alternate businesses. I learnt to cook, so I could open a restaurant and name it ‘Red Chillies Food Eatery’, I learnt how to make Italian food.”

“Now that I go on set, Siddharth Anand (director) loves to eat a lot.” Interrupting his train of thought he says that he will not hesitate to reveal ‘all the bad things today, as I promised.’ He carries on and says, “After 10 days he was not happy with my work so I fed him Pizza every day and because of it he (Siddharth) thought, “I might be able to do the rest of the film with him.”
He also shared his experience of working with his co-star – John Abraham. “Another good thing was when I got to know John Abraham was also doing the film, I haven’t worked with him only did an ad with him. John is an old friend of mine, I came to Mumbai and got to know each other, but unfortunately, we haven’t worked together. It has been said that – ek miyaan mein do talwarein nahin reh sakti, but I requested him, Sid requested him. However I also got scared to work with him because I thought I should have the body as well, so I worked out – which John taught me as well.”
Going a step further, he also revealed the budding bromance between the two – “I love him so much that I was about to kiss him in a few scenes and let me tell you, even he tried the same. It wasn’t just one-sided love, it was from both sides.”
Also, as we all know how much Shah Rukh Khan is known to put into his film, he shares some heartfelt things about his work. He said, “It’s good to be back, I am never in a hurry to finish any film because it’s my genuine desire to spread happiness. And when I fail in it, nobody is as disappointed as me. So I am happy to spread happiness with you all and the people who are really close to me – Aditya Chopra and Siddharth.”
Starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead, the film Pathaan is making the waves everywhere for its splendid collection at the box office, which is breaking records.
