Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 7 Recap

Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 8 Review

With Akane injured, Ranma is forced to take her place to avoid the dire fate of dating Kodachi. Meanwhile, Ryoga makes a vow to Akane, promising to train Ranma and ensure their victory in the tournament. However, Ryoga has ulterior motives. Upon learning that Ranma will have to break off his relationship with Akane and start dating Kodachi if he loses, Ryoga sees an opportunity to sabotage Ranma and edge closer to Akane, whom he secretly admires. Instead of helping, Ryoga does everything he can to undermine Ranma, whether in his human form or disguised as his pig alter ego.

On the day of the competition, a sleep-deprived Ranma arrives at the venue, only to be met with Kodachi’s relentless and underhanded tactics. Determined to prevent Ranma from competing, Kodachi employs every trick in the book. Ironically, she remains oblivious to the fact that Ranma, in his female form, is the very person she’s infatuated with. Thankfully, Akane steps in time and again, exposing Kodachi’s schemes and even harshly rescuing Ranma from some of her traps.

Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 8 Review

Once the battle begins, it takes a turn into complete chaos. The grand stage is set, with a large audience ready to watch Kodachi, a star athlete, fight for love. What follows is both absurd and wildly entertaining, as the competition has absolutely no rules governing the fight. Kodachi’s “strategy” involves an endless series of outrageous and blatant cheats, yet no one seems to care.

Akane can’t seem to catch a break as this time, she must fight for Ryoga, who lands himself in a weird predicament. Ryoga was in his pig form when he accompanied Akane to an ice skating rink, and there, some airheaded woman kidnaps him, giving him the name Charlotte. Later, we find out that she is none other than one of the martial skaters duo team, Azusa. She cannot control herself when she sees anything cute, and after she sets her eyes on something, she must take it home, even if it is something as insignificant as a fish cake.

Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 8 Review

When Akane confronts her about her stealing P Chan, Azusa challenges Akane to a skating battle, keeping the pig as the prize. On the other hand, as Azusa’s partner Mikado tries to flirt with Akane, Ranma also enters this battle. Now, both Ranma and Akane must win a very competitive skating battle against the best team, that too, while performing martial arts. Thus, to win against them, our pair must first practise their skating. However, there is one big problem, even thoughAkanee can skate pretty well, Ranma is absolutely horrible at it.

Ranma changes himself into his girl form and hopes to learn the basics with Akane. Sadly, this is where one of the biggest tragedies of Ranma’s life happens. Mikado, who is an absolute flirt and does not spare any woman in sight, naturally tries to woo Ranma’s girl self as well. But, unlike others, he doesn’t wait for consent and just takes something very precious from Ranma.

Verdict

This episode was not only hilarious but also action-packed. The segment of Ranma losing his precious thing came out of nowhere, but it was definitely the highlight of this episode. However, towards the end, the very prominent tension between Ranma and Akane was also something that I heavily enjoyed.

Now, I must know what will happen in the main skating battle!
