Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 11 Recap

Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 12 Review

The situation between Akane and Ranma becomes increasingly chaotic with the arrival of Shampoo, a new girl who openly expresses her affection for Ranma. Shampoo’s boldness reaches new heights when she kisses Ranma in front of everyone, creating tension. Despite Ranma’s apparent lack of interest, Shampoo is determined to win him over. She stays persistently close to him, believing that her constant proximity will eventually change his feelings.

Unsurprisingly, Akane is not pleased with this turn of events. Her growing feelings for Ranma become evident, and her jealousy surfaces. The only way Shampoo is stopped from kissing Ranma is when Akane intervenes by hurling a weapon at them. Akane also channels her frustration into punching a bag designed to resemble Ranma, humorously highlighting her irritation.

Ranma, however, isn’t exactly in a favourable position either. Whenever he transforms into his female form, Shampoo’s affections take a complete 180-degree turn, and she becomes hostile. Meanwhile, Ryoga contemplates leaving after realizing Akane’s jealousy toward Ranma. Convinced she will never see him as anything more than a pig, he decides to distance himself. Ironically, his actions indirectly lead to a confrontation between Akane and Shampoo.

This episode also reveals Ranma’s true feelings for Akane, even though his pride prevents him from admitting them outright. When he believes Akane might be in danger, his concern for her safety becomes his priority, demonstrating how much he truly cares. However, with the episode ending on a cliffhanger, it’s clear that more complications are on the horizon.

Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 12 Review

Things are tough for Ranma and Akane, as Akane has totally forgotten about Ranma. She completely refuses to acknowledge Ranma or his existence and treats him like an outsider. Even when everyone at school tries to make her remember her fiance, she does not recall any information about him.

She even refuses to believe that she has a fiance in the first place. On top of that, whenever she tries to remember him, her head starts to hurt. This segment also produces a lot of comedy regarding her ability to forget about him, even after hearing all the info about him moments before.

However, this obviously did not come off as funny to Ranma at all. When asked for help from Ryoga, even he denies helping because this situation of Akane not remembering Ranma works in his favour. But after knowing about how Shampoo managed to achieve this feat, you are bound to laugh at the ridiculousness of her process. Let’s just say her name is absolutely perfect for her. After this, it becomes an ambition for Ranma to find any and every way to get back Akane’s memories.

He tries every method and even searches for Shampoo everywhere in town while dragging a very reluctant Akane with him. It is apparent from his desperation that he really hates the fact that his fiance does not remember him anymore. He even promises Akane that he will find a cure for her by hook or by crook. However, the end result of it all was hilarious.

Verdict

Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 12 Review

From all these developments, one thing is proven. Yes, Ranma indeed likes Akane enough for him to go to great lengths for her. But weirdly, he might have also developed some sort of soft spot for Shampoo that can hinder his relationship with Akane in the future. At least, now, I am sure that Shampoo will be a recurring character, and this is not the last time we see her.
