About Hansal Mehta, actor Pratik Gandhi shared, “The first time I worked with him, I felt that he is very simple and his approach towards storytelling is genuine and pure. He just goes by its feel and wants to capture that first emotion. That’s the reason he doesn’t take multiple retakes. He has a very organic process of shooting. As far as possible, he goes chronologically. He starts from the beginning of the scene, and he explores it as he progresses. That is what I observed about him when I worked with him first.”

The actor added, “Second time I worked with him on Baai, it reinstated my understanding that he is absolutely very simple. There are no complex understanding of making it simple. He thinks this way. That’s his genuine personality that gets reflected in whatever work he does. That’s brilliant. I am a fan of simplicity. I look for simplicity in everything that I do or in everything that I see.”

About what he learned about himself as an actor and what his character from Baai taught him, Gandhi shared, “Less is more – the one thing that I got reinstated in my mind. When you internalise something within, it looks big on the camera. As the camera comes closer to you, you have to go inside. This is what I felt while performing this character also. It’s internal, and not everything needs to be put in words. A lot of things have to be felt. If I feel it, the audience will feel it. So the internalisation of the entire journey of Manzar’s character has taught me a lot.”
