NieR Automata Ver1.1a Episode 2 is highly anticipated by anime fans worldwide after the exciting first episode. The new animated series is adapted from the action role-playing game Nier: Automata, developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix. The series is produced by A-1 Picture, who previously also created SAO, Shigatsu and Lycoris Recoil. Ryouji Masuyama of Blend S is the director, and Yukio Nagasaki is the sound director who also worked in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, Love Live and Yona.

The opening theme song of the series is called escalate, performed by Aimer and antinomy or アンチノミー by Amazarashi will be the ending track.

The anime creators have previously confirmed that the series will have an original story, but the basic premise will remain the same. After humanity from Earth has been driven off by mechanical aliens, a force of android warriors is sent as a last effort by humans to save their home. A war between the raging machines and intelligent androids will commence. The plot will follow the androids 2B, 9S and A2 and their attempt to complete the mission and reclaim the lost land.

NieR Automata Ver1.1a Episode 2 Plot

The creators formerly confirmed that the anime’s plot would be original and not follow the video game entirely. However, the first episode was much similar to the game’s story. Following the game’s plot in the first episode can be accepted as it gives the viewers an overall premise and how the story will move forward later. The creators were also mindful of producing an episode that the non-gamers could easily understand.

The plot of the second episode might divulge deeper into the lead characters and their relationship with each other. We can also expect some major unexpected plot twists. More intricate and thrilling action sequences will be a guaranteed addition.

As previously mentioned, we will see the lead protagonists, 2B, voiced by Yui Ishikawa and 9S, voiced by Natsuki Hanae. Other extended characters might include the android A2, Commander, Operators and Pods. Pascal, Lily, Adam and Eve are also expected to appear.

The episodes will air via Tokyo MX and BS11. Crunchyroll recently announced that they will also be airing the series.

It is also expected that we will see how machines take over the planet earth and threaten humanity’s very existence.

The first was an introductory episode and gave us an overview of the plot and characters. The episode’s main premise was that the two androids, 2B and 9S, arrived on Earth to destroy the machines creating havoc on the planet. However, they were not alone, as they received immense help and support from the pods and the scientists who created them.

Both the androids worked together to take down multiple defenses on the enemy’s side. But ultimately, they had to face a super-strong machine named Goliath, and they couldn’t defeat it. They decided to use the black cube YoRHa provided, and with that, they destroyed the machine and themselves. Nevertheless, they both resurrected back in their home ship.
