Nailed It Season 7 Review: We Love This Horrible Mess

Nailed It season 7 is a reality cooking TV show with a twist. The series is hosted by Nicole Byer, with Jacques Torres as the judge. They are joined by a new celebrity guest from different fields in every episode. Nailed It season 7 has 4 episodes, each around 30 minutes long.

Netflix describes it as:

Home bakers with a terrible track record take a crack at re-creating edible masterpieces for a $10,000 prize. It’s part reality contest, part hot mess.

Nailed It season 7 is back with 4 episodes to make our Halloweens, and October in general, great. Nicole Byer and Jacques Torres are back with more bad cooking and hilarious jokes. Man, Torres and Byers have so much patience to see the absolute monstrosities that get baked in front of them but still put all of that in their mouth. Surprising still is the fact that someone wins out of them!

Nailed It Halloween is as hilarious as every last season, but with some extra pizzazz and spooks. The cooking is as horrid as ever but, hey, what else are we here for?

As always, I enjoy a good riffing between the contestants and the judges and Nailed It season 7, although not doing much new, is still so fun to watch. Considering this is a Halloween special, there, obviously, are some differences in the format – each episode is themed following popular Netflix shows like Cobra Kai, The Witcher and Umbrella Academy. We also have special guests from different shows, some come in as judges while others as contestants.

As always, contestants try to recreate some very impressive cakes with hilarious results. The cakes, obviously, are pretty funny, but the contestants’ horror at finding the detailed and scrumptious cakes is hilarious in equal measure and will make you roar with laughter. Almost all of them mention before starting that they are going to watch their creations burn and crash, but the process is rather entertaining to witness regardless.

I do, however, feel like some of the contestants try too hard to be extremely bad. I mean, I know that not everyone has a natural talent to make a mythical creature, but come on, taking solid butter out of a bowl full of eggs and putting it in the microwave to melt it seems like a little much.

That being said, Byers does an excellent job at bringing forth the absolute unbelievability of what happens in the kitchen. We’ve seen her eat these sad cakes for some time, so it’s really nothing new. But still, it’s so absolutely fun to watch her be sassy and make odd faces and considering the circumstances, that’s exactly the over-the-top energy we need.

On the other hand, Jacques Torres is the quieter of the two but is still so funny. His absolute shock at everything around him and his breaking down laughing will constantly make you laugh as well. It’s infectious!

Summing Up: Nailed It Season 7

Nailed It Halloween, much like its 6 other seasons, is hilarious, entertaining and totally silly. If you’re in a bad mood this Halloween, this is the spooky treat you need.
