My Troublesome Star Episode 9 Recap

The episode opens with Tae-sook unable to handle her happiness after Se-ra’s glowup – she hugs her and is overwhelmed with how beautiful she looks. Cheol, too, can’t take his eyes off her as she dazzles him with her beauty. Everyone else reacts similarly as well, and Se-ra eventually walks into the event hall. Hui-yeong, especially, can’t believe her eyes. As people start to talk online, Hui-yeong demands that Sun-young be fired, but she, in turn, threatens to expose her role in Se-ra’s accident 25 years ago.

As the day of the shoot rolls around, the tension is high between the two leading ladies to not fail. Afterwards, though, everyone is all praises for Se-ra, leaving Hui-yeong incensed. Meanwhile, Cheol investigates Dae-gu’s attack and fibs to the guard in the prison, who looks rather annoyed that the job wasn’t done, while Seung-pil lashes out at his men for not killing Se-ra.

That night, someone arrives at the hospital room to kill Dae-gu.

The next morning, Baek-ja reminisces about Se-ra right after her accident, and it’s clear that she was extremely unwell mentally, along with physically, while Baek-ja had to take care of everything alone. Elsewhere, Cheol gets the news that Dae-gu had a seizure and decides to treat this as a murder case to start the investigation right away. He further learns about Assemblyman Min Guk-hee’s scandal that was orchestrated by 2ONE Entertainment.

Back at the shoot location, Se-ra runs lines with Won Ban while Cheol has drinks with Hui-yeong and asks her about her relationship with Du-won. Although she baits him into thinking that she will tell him a secret, in the end, she asks him to work for her. In the end, he escorts a very drunk Hui-yeong to her room, and Se-ra eventually catches them, leaving him embarrassed. The two eventually have a lovers’ spat while having lunch the next day and, drunk off their minds, Cheol tells Se-ra that he will be sleeping with her that night.

Well, he sends her to another room and takes over her’s, sensing danger. That night, he is attacked, just as he’d thought, and after a lengthy fight, the attacker manages to get away. The next morning, Se-ra realises that something is amiss and is left worried for Cheol, but he simply tells her that everything is okay. Elsewhere, with Guk-hee leading the race, Seung-pil remembers how Ik-hwan had handed over everything, including the golden watch, to him as he was stepping down.

As Se-ra fights over discounted meat at the supermarket, Cheol is left injured and struggling after having a tough few days. That night, Se-ra visits Cheol and, finally, she realises that he’s the police officer who gave her courage since she was a young star after he tells her his door passcode – 0728. The episode ends with Cheol falling on Se-ra.

Well, I am glad that we got to see a ton of Cheol–Se-ra content in this episode because frankly, with the episodes running out, there’s a need for the romantic subplot to exist a bit more here. We further learn about the politician and how they are connected, so that’s good as well. But, with only 3 remaining episodes, I wonder how they will fit all the answers in these short runtimes. Either way, this episode was quite enjoyable and will leave you entertained.
