With its second episode, the brand new series has already divided our minds. After seeing Namgoong Ho and Lee Mi-do decide to end their 10-year relationship and instantly have other people in their lives, one thing is clear: they will most likely have an emotional cheating concept going on. Will there be a second chance though? Well, we don’t know yet. Let’s read more!
A Love Other Than Yours episode 2 runtime is 60 minutes. The series (너 말고 다른 연애) stars Seo Kang-joon, Ahn Eun-jin, Lee Joo-ahn, Jo A-ram, Kim Mi-kyung, Kim Nam-hee and Lee Min-jae. It is directed by Hwang Seung-ki and Lee Ga-ram.

Second-Chance Romance
Okay, the story would either be about a couple, both having an affair due to not finding themselves in each other. Or, I did think that we were going to see them fight to keep each other. But you know what? They break up, and then new leads come in, and now they’re drawn to them. This seems legit normal.
Ho and Mi-do have already broken up, which means the arrival of Han Tae-seung and Park Soo-ah does not make things worse. There won’t be an emotional or physical cheating core, as the main leads have maturely broken up. This makes the story feel too predictable. Either they will move on with the new people or reunite after realising they could never find someone like each other.
This isn’t a bad story, but it isn’t worth a series.
Many Many Flashbacks
We see a lot of flashbacks that allow us to see the history between Ho and Mi-do. In the first episode, we saw how invested Ho was in the relationship while Mi-do felt distant. We might immediately tend to judge that she is making things worse due to her insecurities while he is fighting to make things right.
But the flashbacks show a whole different vibe. They both have been neighbours since childhood and were best friends before they became a thing. Both Mi-do and Ho are deeply in love with each other. Hence, Mi-do becoming distant doesn’t show that she no longer cares, but she is tired of failing to save the friendship they once used to share.
When someone criticises Ho, Mi-do absolutely hates it, showing she still cares about him even after the breakup. Their love still exists, but on top of all that, exhaustion and frustration rule. If those issues get sorted, maybe they’ll come back.
But the Chemistry Isn’t Too Great
While Seo Kang-joon and Ahn Eun-jin are two exceptional actors, their chemistry is still not quite the catch. I get that it is the first week of the series airing and we still have a lot more to see, yet I couldn’t really see them two ooze out their love juice. LOL.
This becomes a bit tiring because we constantly see both of them struggling to make things work, but even during that, I couldn’t see much love. Still, it may be too early to judge their chemistry. I understand that they’ve broken up, so the chemistry won’t be happening, but hopefully we get to see some vibe between them two.
Final Wrap
Episode 2 makes the drama seem more like a second-chance stealer than a dark, realistic relationship drama. In real life, after a break-up, couples tend to move on and find new people, whereas in this series, we get hints that show they still care about each other.
Whether that is disappointing or delightful, it depends entirely on the different types of viewers watching it. For me, it isn’t disappointing, but it just doesn’t give me the urge to continue watching.
Those hoping for complicated emotional cheating and other tense scenes, well, it’s too quick to judge and know whether it will happen. All we can do is predict and wish it comes true.
