As the viewers piece together the intricate connections, it’s revealed that Jeong-ah is the reincarnation of the maid, and the present Baek-ryun represents the third incarnation of the same soul. In the present, at the hospital, Sang-hyuk remains unaware of Baek-ryun’s dreams about her past life, complicating their understanding of their deep connection.
Jae-hee intensifies his suspicion of Sang-hyuk and decides to investigate further. Collecting Sang-hyuk’s DNA, Jae-hee is perplexed to find its absence, raising questions about Sang-hyuk’s true identity. Simultaneously, Dong-gu’s burgeoning feelings for Do-ra add a touch of romance as he navigates the challenges of expressing his emotions.
Amidst these unfolding mysteries, Sang-hyuk receives a file linking the Polka Dot case girl (Jeong-ah) to Baek-ryun. However, his attempt to read it results in the alarming disappearance of his hand, triggering a metamorphosis. Jae-hee witnesses this transformation but is unable to apprehend Sang-hyuk, who flees the scene.
The narrative takes a thrilling turn as Myeong-sik, the suspected killer, is caught with incriminating evidence matching his DNA. As Baek-ryun reveals a key detail about scratching the killer’s neck, Jae-hee arrests Myeong-sik. In a moment of revelation, Jae-hee deciphers the psychiatrist’s report, realizing that Baek-ryun embodies the maid and Jeong-ah, sacrificing herself in each life for Sang-hyuk’s growth.
As the episode builds towards its climax, Sang-hyuk rushes to the mountain where Baek-ryun is completing her 1000th prayer. In a poignant moment of realization, they embrace, acknowledging that they are destined to be each other’s eternal companions.
