My Man is Cupid Episode 10 Recap

In episode 10 the most important moment happens and we’re up for it! So the episode clicks off from the previous one where we see Sang-hyuk planning to shoot his arrow at Jae-hee and Baek-ryun to fall in love with each other. He shoots it but misses the target as Baek-ryun stands up to catch the falling leaf. She dreamily looks at Sang-hyuk and Jae-hee notices it. Dong-chil/Ddaeng-chil and Sang-hyuk have a conversation about the kiss and Sang-hyuk bluffs out his feelings for Baek-ryun, realising his true emotions.

Dong-gu gets more attached to Do-ra and falls in love with her while the latter simply is trying her best as an instructor to make him understand other women. The acts of Dong-gu and Sang-hyuk worry Dong-pal as he sternly believes cupids cannot fall in love with humans. Dong-pal plans to tie up both Sang-hyuk and Dong-gu. While the latter gets tied, Sang-hyuk escapes them with a threat.

Both Jae-hee and Sang-hyuk wonder about Baek-ryun while Sang-hyuk completely occupies her mind. She then receives a text from the killer via Eun-seo’s phone stating that she (Eun-seo) is alive and like to meet Baek-ryun. The next day, Baek-ryun confirms with Jae-hee the phone number of Eun-seo but doesn’t give him a reason. This makes him analyse the situation and he finds that the killer has switched on Eun-seo’s phone and texted Baek-ryun. Baek-ryun decides to meet Eun-seo and she drives to the given location without informing both Jae-hee and Sang-hyuk.

Sang-hyuk finds out about the situation and rushes to the place. Hearing the sirens, the killer escapes but he knocks Baek-ryun unconscious. Baek-ryun gets admitted to the hospital and they also find the corpse of Eun-seo inside a water barrel. During skull surgery, Baek-ryun remembers her past but fails to see the face of the man she was in love with. When she wakes up, she gets annoyed at everyone around her and forces herself to sleep to remember his face. However, someone or the other interrupt her sleep.

On the other hand, we see Myeong-sik (the man with whom Eun-seo had an affair) checking out his scratches on the mirror. This gives a startling hint pointing the viewers to realise/understand that he indeed is the serial killer. Jae-hee’s suspicion of Sang-hyuk strengthens when he sees a tiny scratch on his hand vanish. When he visits the house of Sang-hyuk, he sees the other three cupids and is shocked to find that they’re also young and uncanny like the men in the picture taken in 1993.

At the hospital, Sang-hyuk looks at the sleeping Baek-ryun and wonders about his feelings. Just then, Baek-ryun views the face of her lover, which is none other than Sang-hyuk. As he turns to leave, Baek-ryun opens her eyes and states that it is him, her lover in the past, shocking him.

My Man is Cupid Episode 10 Review

I don’t mean to criticise but why are female leads in most of these romantic dramas portrayed so dumb? Who in the world would go to an isolated place when a woman who is considered dead invites? Given that Baek-ryun knows that the killer is trying to kill her, how can any sane person believe a text from a woman who has been missing for days? Come on! Can writers stop this nuisance and give brains to these wonderful actors?

I understand that this scene paves the path for the revelation about the past to come out as well as a chance to reveal the corpse of Eun-seo and the serial killer. But still, the choice of the female lead to visit Eun-seo when she is in grave danger feels ridiculous. Hopefully, they will stop this nonsense in the upcoming dramas.

  1. I think you have every right to criticise a completely dumb and unbelievable sequence of events like that. Ignoring phones, not calling the police knowing that they have been looking for the missing person, going to a deserted place alone knowing that there is a serial killer of women on the loose. It was just way too much dumb no matter what the writers were trying to set up.

  2. I’m on episode ten and I really had to pause the movie to express this frustration. I liked it so far till this episode. Because really that was such a stupid move from the FL. They couldn’t have come up with a better excuse to make the FL fall into danger without making her seem stupid. It was so frustrating watching her walk to the danger with her own two feet. The writing really sucked in this part. It was just so dumb for me I had to rant. Sorry.
