Moving In With Malaika Episode 4 Review: Malaika Overcomes Her Biggest Fear

Moving in With Malaika Episode 4 premiered on December 8, 2022, with a runtime of 33 minutes. The brand new reality show will centre around actress, model, dancer and VJ Malaika Arora. Created by Malaika herself, along with Banijay Asia, the show will give us an exclusive and up-close look at the life of the Indian celebrity.

The actress rose to fame for her appearance in the famous Bollywood song Chaiyan Chaiyan from the movie Dil Se.. along with Shah Rukh Khan. She has been in the public eye ever since, and her divorce from Arbaaz Khan, brother of Salmaan Khan, is one of the most talked about instances around the town. She has also been a victim of internet trolls following her dating news with Arjun Kapoor.

Hence, she has decided to take matters into her own hands and create a show that will show her true self.

Disney+ Hotstar description of the show reads:

ALL SET TO SHOWCASE HER TRUE SELF, MALAIKA WILL SHUT DOWN TROLLS IN HER QUINTESSENTIAL ARORA STYLE AS SHE OPENS UP ABOUT HER LIFE

-Moving In With Malaika Episode 4 Review Contains No Spoilers-

This episode finally showcased what they had been teasing about since episode 1, Malaika doing stand-up comedy. It was rather surprising initially when the celebrity opted to do this because she always displayed her classy and sophisticated side. She has always been known for being glamorous and less for her funny side.

The episode started with her practising for the show, and she was seen struggling. But Malaika remained determined and stubborn to go through this ordeal once and for all. Sumukhi guided her every step of the way since she was far more experienced in the felid.

The room was filled with celebrities, Malaika’s friends and family. Amrita Arora, Neha Dhupia and her mother, were seen in the audience. Everyone was seen cheering and encouraging her.

Some of the jokes landed, and some did not. It felt like a self-redemption speech with a few added jokes to keep it light-hearted. The reaction from the audience was also clear when applause started to decrease with every punch line. She tried very hard to please the room, but the badly written script did not help.

Malaika’s attempt was commendable; she was immersed in the act. She also started going off the script and making impromptu jokes that were refreshing. It could be observed that she was enjoying herself immensely. But her driven passion and personality still could not save the show.

As per usual, she looked ravishing in latex and an all-black outfit. Usually, in generic stand-up comedies, the audience is not shown, but they were active participants in this episode, and Malaika did a good job including them in her bits.

Moving In With Malaika Episode 4: Final Thoughts

Malaika taking up the challenge to try new things to overcome her fears is praiseworthy. She gives the maximum of her effort in anything that she ventures into. Her unafraid and true self could be witnessed in this episode.

Even though she tried her best, the jokes were not landing, which left an awkward atmosphere. Some of her jokes made the audience uncomfortable, and that did not go unnoticed. They were unfamiliar with this side of Malaika, and it could have been shocking to them.

Nevertheless, credit where credit is due; it was an entertaining episode, the best one so far. The audience wanted entertainment and more celebrities, and the creators delivered exactly that.
