Mayfair Witches Episode 1 has been released and it resulted in some interesting turn of events. Created by Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford, the series is based on the novel trilogy of the same name by Anne Rice and is the second television series in Rice’s Immortal Universe. The first episode is titled ‘The Witching Hour’. It is directed by Michael Uppendahl and written by Michelle Ashford & Esta Spalding.
The main cast for Mayfair Witches includes Alexandra Daddario as Dr. Rowan Fielding, Harry Hamlin as Cortland Mayfair, Tongayi Chirisa as Ciprien Grieve and Jack Huston as Lasher. The recurring cast members are Annabeth Gish as Deirdre Mayfair, Beth Grant as Carlotta Mayfair, Erica Gimpel as Ellie Mayfair and Jen Richards as Jojo. The runtime for the first episode is over an hour.
Mayfair Witches Episode 1 Ending Explained
Towards the end of Mayfair Witches Episode 1, we discover how Deirdre Mayfair and Rowan Fielding are connected. A young and pregnant becomes bound to the demon-like entity Lasher after which her water breaks and she ends up giving birth to a baby girl. However, before she can even look at her daughter, aunt Carlotta takes her away. She sees her hand the child over to a young Ellie Fielding, who also happens to be a Mayfair cousin. While offering away the child Carlotta mentions that the child should never know who she is and Ellie should never contact the Mayfair family again to which she agrees.

Carlotta lies to Deirdre saying that her baby had a maladaptive heart and could not survive which is followed by a doctor giving her a sleeping shot. In the present, it is revealed that the old woman we saw at the beginning of the episode is none other than Deirdre. Her new doctor clearly suspects that something is up with her. He removes the necklace she is seen wearing after noticing scratch marks on her chest and assuming that she has been wanting to get the necklace off. He whispers into her ears that he will come at the house everyday but, not give her the medication to see who she actually is as a person.
On the other side of the world, 2000 miles away, Rowan wakes up in the middle of the night from her sleep. After her adoptive mother’s passing away, she is completely alone and vulnerable. As she looks around to identify what woke her up, she sees Lasher in a flash on her deck before he disappears and that is how Mayfair Witches Episode 1 comes to an end. Thus letting us know that Lasher is free now that Deirdre’s necklace has been removed.
