Inside the Circle Ending Explained: Netflix’s Spanish-language thriller turns a political thriller into something more personal as a dangerous kidnapping brings forth shocking revelations that threaten the characters’ lives. What initially looks like a political conspiracy that the four friends are unwittingly brought into, the truth turns out to be much closer to home.
While Pamela Dosantos’ murder starts the entire ordeal, it turns out that the problem was much closer to home. The murder eventually points back to the four friends at the heart of the story. Tomás, Amelia, Mario and Jaime have known each other since childhood, but Pamela’s investigation pulls Tomás in a direction that he cannot ignore or give up on. Smelling something fishy and bigger, he digs where he isn’t supposed to and stumbles on a situation that makes him question everything he has ever known.
The cast includes Michel Brown, Zuria Vega, Raúl Briones, Osvaldo Benavides, Jorge Zárate, Natalia Coronado, Mariané Cartas, Diego Sandoval, and Saúl Lisazo. Alejandro Lozano directs the 8-episode series (El círculo) that is based on the novel Los corruptores (The Corruptors) by Jorge Zepeda Patterson.

Who Is Pamela Dosantos in Inside the Circle?
When the series starts, Pamela Dosantos is a well-known actress who has just been murdered. While investigations are underway, Tomás finds a seemingly innocuous video of her last whereabouts that he posts online. However, in a shocking turn of events, it turns out to have opened a whole other can of worms – as it stands, Pamela was last seen outside Salazar’s house, a political bigwig who has come under fire for her murder after the video is posted.
In a shocking twist, as it turns out, Pamela wasn’t just another glamorous actress – she was a spy for the Northern Cartel and has been blackmailing and using different people in positions of power and giving these videos to the cartel. The cartel is her family, whom she had hoped to leave behind but could never do.
Her death, thus, isn’t just a random murder. It’s a planned murder with a lot at stake – she basically held a lot of power in her hands thanks to the videos and recordings of confidential and incriminating things that these people have spoken in front of her.
Who Killed Her? Why?
In a shocking twist, Tomás figures out after Jimena and Viri are rescued that it was none other than Jaime who had Pamela killed. As it turns out, the person who has been protecting the group for years is the one pulling all the strings and playing with people’s lives to get what he wants. He had Pamela killed to get an in to the cartel and get some work done through them. However, his carefully constructed plans fall flat when Tomás keeps digging and eventually figures out the truth.
Thus, the person who has been playing their every move and hindering their progress at every turn is none other than Jaime. As it turns out, though, the group, too, have been keeping things secret from him.
Why Was Tomás Given the Video?
Tomás was given the video by an informant who knew the truth of what was happening behind the scenes and used him to get the video out. While one might think that it’s a lucky tip, the situation was nuanced and targeted, as a result of which the informant, too, ends up losing his life. Plus, his instinct to investigate and bring the truth to the public makes him the perfect candidate to hand this bomb out to, and he, as predicted, dives headfirst, regardless of what it may cost him.
Jaime’s Biggest Betrayal Explained
The emotional weight of the story rests with Jaime’s betrayal, as these four friends were supposed to be a family that looked out for one another. They weren’t supposed to have any secrets. However, Jaime, to get something that he wanted, ended up keeping some heinous secrets from the others that ultimately put everyone’s lives on the line. At any point, one of the girls could’ve been seriously hurt, something that no one would’ve forgiven him for. The threat being inside the circle all around is what makes it one of the biggest betrayals.
What Happens to Salazar?
While Salazar seems to be one of the main corrupt individuals involved in the mess, it turns out that he was merely a puppet. He was, of course, corrupt, but he wasn’t the puppeteer. Thus, when the truth comes out, he ends his life, directing a friend to get revenge against Tomas and Amelia for him.
What Does the Ending Signify?
The ending is somewhat open and indicates that although the immediate threat is neutralised, a bigger threat looms over the friends. Salazar’s friend seems ready to get revenge against Tomas and Amelia, although they didn’t really do anything. Plus, the deal with the cartel that Jaime worked so hard for didn’t end up panning out, which left his security on the line as well. The series, thus, ends on a sombre note, with all the friends now in danger. Thus, Inside the Circle Season 2 seems to be a possibility in the future.
