MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 51 Recap Contains Spoilers

In MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 51, the contestants have to cook a dish using one of the ingredients from the Rainbow Mystery Box. The contestants have 60 minutes to cook a dish using one or more ingredients from the mystery box. The cooks can use under-bench staples and won’t have access to the pantry and garden area.

Three contestants who will cook the least impressive dishes will be sent to the Pressure Test in the next episode. Everyone is excited to cook with the mystery box, but they’re also nervous. The ingredients aren’t something they often use to cook. Hence, each cook wants to give the best to avoid the Pressure Test.

Dan cooks Fairy Mille Feuille, which the judges enjoy eating. On social media, the contestant shares, “When I was a young fella you’d always find me smashing the fairy bread at a birthday party. Here’s my updated version, Fairy Mille Feuille.

I am super proud of tonight’s cook, and I’m feeling more confident every day. A few months ago, pastry terrified me, and now I can pull out a pretty decent rough puff, loving this journey.”

Billie decides to make choux pastry again. Andy and Jock tell her that she not only has to make a delicious choux but outdo herself from her choux pastry dish that she cooked just a few episodes before. Even Keyma decides to cook choux pastry with colourful ingredients.

Keyma’s dish is called Choux au craquelin with mukhwas creme pat, dragon fruit jam and whipped cream. The judges are impressed with her pastry dish. However, Billie’s Mukhwas Choux isn’t up to the mark. Alvin’s noodle dish also gets praised by the judges.

Another weak dish of the challenge was cooked by Mindy. Her painted crayfish and egg noodles dish didn’t have enough intense flavours. Julie’s Rainbow Crayfish salad didn’t come together as a good dish overall.

Billie, Mindy and Julie cooked the least impressive dishes. The three contestants will be a part of the Pressure Test tomorrow. One of the cooks will have to say goodbye to MasterChef Australia in the next episode.

MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 51 Recap: Final Thoughts

The Rainbow Mystery Box had some interesting ingredients. It often happens in the competition that the cooks struggle to give their best with the simplest and limited ingredients. Billie and Julie have cooked some best dishes of season 14 so far. So it would be interesting to see them in the Pressure Test along with Mindy in the next episode.
