The cooks are allowed to taste the dish by Josh Niland and, get all the flavours. However, we see how unfortunate it is for Melanie, who is gluten-intolerant, that she cannot taste the dish. So she will have to rely on her instincts and the recipe at hand to make the dish. It is surely one big drawback as it will be difficult for her to get the taste right, especially because she does not know what it tastes like in the first place.

For MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 27, the contestants are given four hours to make the Tuna Wellington with gravy and mashed potato. The recipe and all the ingredients they will need are provided at the kitchen counter and soon, the cooks dive right into cooking. Initially, we see Harry fumble in the challenge with her sauce. However, she figures out a way to try to salvage it. Melanie also goes into panic mode when it comes to recreating a pastry. We see her even have a breakdown. It is Billie, however, who is a treat to watch as she is focused and steady and puts her game face on.

When it comes down to the last few seconds in the challenge, the plating begins and Billie’s tuna is the perfect pink that it needs to be. But, Harry sheds some tears as she is surely not happy with her sauce and it is nothing like Josh’s.

Matt is the first one to present his dish. It is a hit with the judges who call Matt’s dish a 9 outta 10 and, it is definitely a huge compliment. Melanie brings in her dish next. The sauce in Melanie’s dish is beautiful but, the Wellington itself is not great as there is a lot of uncooked pastry.

Next up is Billie, whose dish is excellently done and the judges love it look wise as well as taste-wise. Harry is the last one to present her dish. The pastry is appreciated by the judges but, the sauce is a huge failure and, Josh even says that Harry’s sauce is everything he does not want the sauce to ever taste like.
