Originally the role of Andrea Sachs in the comedy-drama was first offered to Rachel McAdams. Right after the success of Mean Girls and The Notebook, the actress wanted to play some subtle hence why she rejected the opportunity. The role eventually went to Anne Hathaway for the lead role, and the rest is history.

The iconic lead role in the movie was initially given to Jackie Chan. However, it went to Michelle Yeoh instead, who won The Academy Award for Best Actress in 2023. Moreover, Stephanie Hsu’s role was offered to Awkwafina, but she dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.

Moreover, Damien Chazelle (director) did not think Teller was the right choice and hence he was replaced by Ryan Gosling.
