Originally the role of Andrea Sachs in the comedy-drama was first offered to Rachel McAdams. Right after the success of Mean Girls and The Notebook, the actress wanted to play some subtle hence why she rejected the opportunity. The role eventually went to Anne Hathaway for the lead role, and the rest is history.
