Lupin 2, Squid Game, The White Lotus: Best Web Series of 2021 That Entertained Us (International)

Best Web Series of 2021: The year 2021 had lots and lots of releases on various digital platforms. Due to pandemic and lockdown, most people worldwide were forced to stay inside. It was platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and others that helped them to forget reality for some time. From the Korean to French series, we watched content in different languages and interesting stories.

If we look back at the releases, the list will go on and on. But we have picked out some of our most favourite web shows released in 2021. Lupin 2, The White Lotus, Squid Game and many such shows have left a great impression on our minds.

Here’s our list of Best Web Series of 2021:

Lupin Part 2

Lupin Part 2, starring Omar Sy, Ludivine Sagnier, Etan Simon, Fargass Assandé and others released on Netflix in June. The Netflix French thriller had 5 episodes and gave a powerful conclusion to Assane Diop’s (Omar Sy) story. With great suspense, twists, and terrific writing, the series made a place in the best web shows of 2021.

Squid Game

The Korean thriller starring Lee Jung-Jae, Park Hae-soo, Heo Sung-Tae, Wi Ha-Joon and Jung Ho-Yeon, and others became critics’ and fans’ favourites. The Netflix adventure thriller received rave reviews and drew more and more people’s attention towards other Korean shows. With 10 long episodes, Dong-hyuk Hwang’s ‘game’ show keeps one at the edge of the seat with unexpected twists and deaths.

Sweet Tooth

Another Netflix show that made people fall in love is Sweet Tooth. Starring Christian Convery, Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar, Will Forte, and Dania Ramirez, the apocalyptic fantasy drama was praised for its story, casting and cinematography. It shows us what would happen if kids were born as hybrids (half-human, half animals) due to a deadly virus. It’s not very dark or depressing and keeps you engrossed.

The White Lotus

Mark White’s The White Lotus on Disney+ is one of my most favourite web series of 2021. It has an amazing star cast – Murray Bartlet, Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Alexandra Daddario, Fred Hechinger, Jake Lacy, Brittany O’Grady, Natasha Rothwell, Sydney Sweeney, Steve Zahn, Lukas Gage, Jon Gries, Molly Shanon and Kekoa Scott Kekumano. Wealthy families enjoy a tropical vacation at a lavish hotel. A murder in the hotel makes everyone suspicious. The dark humour and the music of the show are outstanding.

Star Wars: Visions

The animated version by top Japanese studios told us stories we never imagined in the Star Wars universe. Kamikaze Douga, Twin Engine, Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Production I.G, and Science SARU came together to tell us tales of Star Wars warriors across different worlds and galaxies. The animated series is definitely a must-watch for all the fans.

Well, this is our list of the best web series of 2021. If there’s anything you enjoyed, do let us know in the comments below.
