Love Like a Kdrama: New Netflix Reality Show’s Release Date and Concept Revealed

Romance and dreams are about to take flight beyond borders in Love Like a Kdrama (韓国ドラマな恋がしたい), an upcoming Korean-Japanese reality show on Netflix. Produced under the banner of TV Man Union, this new authentic experience was filmed in Seoul with Yoshiaki Suzuki coming in as the director. Capturing the suggestive emotional expression of the show’s concept, Japanese singer, AiNA THE END’s eloquent track Diana serves as the show’s theme song.

The soon-to-release series seeks inspiration from the Japanese counterpart, Falling in Love Like a Romantic Drama, which is also deemed the show’s prequel in some ways. Suzuki’s directorial project will add to the prevailing expansive catalogue of romantic reality shows on the streamer such as, Japanese titles like, Love Village, Is She the Wolf, Love is Blind Japan, and more, in addition to Korean titles from the same category like, Single’s Inferno, and Love After Divorce. If you’re wondering what the upcoming show will add to this wide-range archive? We’ve laid out the details for the same below.

Love Like a Kdrama Reality Show Concept / Plot

In this “romantic cross-border journey”, viewers may get to witness real romance following K-drama fashion as four Japanese actresses embark on a spunky project that requires them to act alongside Korean actors to find new fitting roles in series centred around love stories. For the duration of the reality TV series, all eight of these contestants will be paired up and will have to live together while they attempt to land lead roles in six mini-dramas.

As true romance blossoms, will these contestants be able to act alongside the person they have a soft spot for, or will they lose their romantic interests to someone else? The concept itself will bring alive the typical tropes illustrated by K-dramas, like heartbreak, woe and maybe even one-sided love.
