Single in Seoul (싱글 인 서울) is a new Lee Dong-wook movie releasing in theatres this November. The South Korean romantic comedy has emerged as a feel-good addition to this year’s collection of such content that didn’t take long to reserve a spot for itself in the hearts of the audience. Even though this film is yet to premiere, netizens are already raving about it and are excited to see their beloved K-drama hero win them over yet again, but on the big screen this time.
Directed by Park Beom-soo and written by Lee Ji-min, this film is even reminding people of the 2023 rom-com K-drama, Crash Course in Romance, starring Jung Kyung-ho and Jeon Do-yeon, as the main characters therein too share similar personality streaks with the ones in this movie. While it’s impossible to determine beforehand if this similarity will actually reflect in the final result, one can only patiently wait for the final result on the D-day to find out for sure. The film’s OST has also been released ahead of the cinematic premiere, and so far it consists of two tracks – Kim Hyeon-cheol’s After a Long Time, and AKMU’s Long Day Long Night.

Single in Seoul Korean Movie Plot / Synopsis
In what possibly hints at an opposites-attract scenario, the storyline is centred around Park Yeong-ho and Joo Hyeon-jin, two completely different people with different temperaments. When the one common link between them, an essay addressing single life, brings them together, their old wounds open wide open once again.
Yeong-ho is a lecturer and popular influencer with significant number of followers, who takes pride in being single and enjoys his life like so. Whereas, on the other hand, Hyeon-jin is an editor-in-chief at a publishing company and also one of Yeong-ho’s college juniors, and the one in charge of the essay question, which is titled, “Single in the City”. Contradicting Yeong-ho’s preference of wanting to be single and finding joy in it, Hyeon-jin doesn’t like being alone.
