Kaiju No 8 Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

This episode easily stands out as one of the darkest and most intense so far, opening with a wedding that’s suddenly devastated by a colossal Kaiju attack. Soon after, it becomes clear that the assault is nationwide, with Kaiju swarming crowded areas and indiscriminately targeting civilians. The sheer scale of destruction makes this one of the toughest battles the series has shown yet.

To respond, every division is mobilised, joining forces to push back against the overwhelming tide of monsters. Interestingly, the Kaiju attacks aren’t random; there’s a calculated pattern. They strike at humanity’s critical infrastructure, such as power plants, hinting that the entire operation is being orchestrated by Kaiju No. 9.

A highlight of the episode is Kikoru taking centre stage, now armed with the Kaiju No. 4 weapon, known for its incredible speed and flight capabilities. She demonstrates her mastery of the suit, cutting down enemies with ruthless efficiency. But she isn’t the only one stepping up, as Hoshina also enters the fray, equipped with the Kaiju No. 10 weapon. Unlike Kikoru’s, his situation is far more complicated, as the weapon itself is sentient and refuses to simply follow his lead.

This power struggle between Hoshina and No. 10 escalates until he devises a way for them to fight in sync. That moment of uneasy cooperation turns into one of the most thrilling sequences in the entire episode.

Kaiju No 8 Season 2 Episode 11 Review

This episode begins right off the bat with an epic sequence of Mina destroying 2 monstrous Kaiju from a distance of 20 kilometres. Everyone becomes absolutely mesmerised by her and even mentions how against huge Kaijus, she is even better than Gen. After her involvement, things finally look a bit better for humans, but that’s when it becomes clear that all these attacks were done just so that Kaiju No 8 can come in front, which he did not.

A second round of attack finally begins, and all the important characters from the human side get attacked by one powerful Kaiju each. These monsters are in a class of their own as they can even speak and are sentient, just like Kaiju No 10. The moment they appeared, they started to wreak havoc. Following this, it becomes apparent that Kikoru will have to fight on her own, and she unleashes a whopping 84% of her power.

She tries her best, but it is obvious that she is getting overworked and overwhelmed by her opponent. But it is not just her, as almost everyone is getting overpowered. It becomes evident that these Kaijus are literally made specifically for their opponents, keeping their weaknesses in mind. But just when all hope becomes lost, Kafka finally reappears.

Kaiju No 8 Season 2 Episode 11 Review

This was a very good buildup episode that showcases the supporting characters very nicely. Here, we saw very little of Kafka, but that is because of the grand fight that we will see in the next episode. I liked this episode a lot, and the way it ended, hinting at the final fight. Things will be especially tough now that Kaiju No 9 knows Kafka’s weaknesses.
