Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 12 Review: With Toji Fushiguro summoned back into the Jujutsu world, the situation has become further complex in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 12. The twelfth episode titled “Blunt Blade” of the anime series premiered on October 12, 2023. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (呪術廻戦 or Sorcery Fight) is directed by Sunghoo Park, the show is animated under MAPPA Studio. With Sayaka Koiso and Tadashi Hiramatsu designing the characters, Yoshimasa Terui is the sole composer of the series. Tatsuya Kitani performed the opening theme, Where Our Blue Is (青のすみか), while Soushi Sakiyama performed the ending theme, Light (燈).
The anime is scheduled for two cours, the first five episodes adapted the manga’s Hidden Inventory arc, and the upcoming eighteen other episodes will showcase the Shibuya arc. Licensed under Crunchyroll, the episodes will be available with English subtitles, and the dubbed version will be released later on.
Based on the manga series of the same name by Gege Akutami, the story follows high school student Yuji Itadori as he joins a secret organization of Jujutsu Sorcerers in order to kill a powerful Curse named Ryomen Sukuna, of whom Yuji becomes the host. However, the new season will consist of various aspects of the story which the audience has been wondering about. Each episode has a runtime of 20-25 minutes.

The story is very fast-paced and one cannot look away for a second because so much is happening at the same time. But it is executed smoothly without creating any confusion amongst the viewers. Moreover, some of the beloved characters are finally getting the deserved limelight.
The true essence of the series and what Gege envisioned from his precious work is finally taking life. The show is not just about good defeating evil, but much more complex than that. It dives deep into the emotions and the toll that the sorcerers suffer from fighting the curses. The thought process and intentions behind their actions are what move the audience and help them connect instantly.

Undoubtedly, the star of the show is Nanami Kento. Not just because of his godly presence and incredible power, enough to melt anyone watching, but we finally get to see within his tough exterior. Even though it was just a small bit, we understand that some deep traumatic events shaped his personality and life. The extravagant showdown of his power is the main event of the episode.
The animation crew has really pushed the boundaries of what is possible, from the graceful and gorgeous action scenes to the full character emotional depiction. Every battle features a mesmerizing visual display, with spells and curses erupting in enticing effects. Because to the brisk camera movements and choreography, each meeting is a thrilling rush, and the meticulously considered character designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also expertly executed.

By giving their characters unique characteristics and nuance, each voice actor makes sure that every character has a distinct and unforgettable personality. Beyond just reciting lines, they give complex emotional ranges in their performances that bring the characters to life on film. Kenjiro Tsuda’s dedication to his craft, combined with his innate ability to capture the essence of his characters, sets him apart as a true gem in the industry.

From start to finish, the episode remains as enthralling as ever. The episode is more visually enticing rather than a plot-driven one. Nevertheless, the creators have managed to include some emotional bits that touch the audience. The incredible animation combined with a burst of colours makes the episode one of the best ones so far. Ending it on a cliffhanger is the ultimate cherry on top to ensure the fans will be returning for more.
