How I Met Your Father Episode 9 is directed by Pamela Fryman and written by Ama Quao & Ally Thibault. The creator of the sitcom is Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger and, it serves as a standalone sequel to everyone’s favourite show from the early 2000s- How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM). The new gang of the show living in New York City includes Hilary Duff, Christopher Lowell, Francia Raisa, Suraj Sharma, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, Josh Peck, Leighton Meester, Kyle MacLachlan, Ashley Reyes, Laura Bell Bundy, Phil Abrams, Tessa Auberjonois, Joely Fisher and Kim Cattrall. The ninth episode of the show has already premiered, with a runtime of 23 minutes.

How I Met Your Father Episode 9: “Jay Street”
How I Met Your Father Episode 9 continues the much anticipated Jesse and Sophie storyline. We see both our mains reminiscing what happened when they kissed their respective best friends and, how they have decided to take things further on a date later. However, the biggest obstacle in Sophie’s life is, of course, Drew’s presence. But, with a determined mind to break up with Drew and pursue things with Jesse, Sophie hatches a plan only to be interrupted by the presence of Drew’s parents, who have their own set of bad news to drop.
Meanwhile, things aren’t exactly smooth with Jesse either. Sid reveals to Jesse about Meredith stopping by and, that sends Jesse spiralling down. He gets to know about Meredith’s song that is titled ‘Jay Street’ and, the annotations are very clear that it is about Jesse and her regret of them breaking up in the first place. Curiosity being the mother of all disasters as it is of inventions, Jesse heads straight for Meredith’s place to meet her and, confront her about her new title.
As for the other characters, we finally see Hannah make yet another appearance and, she comes with her own set of revelations and frustrations which leaves Sid considerably ‘numb’, as the show puts it. Meanwhile, Ellen creates a fashion show segment of her own by trying on new clothes that she aims to wear to a job interview that she hopes she excels.

Charlie, on the other hand, arranges for a ‘Friends’ Sccoccer Day’ that leaves him dry and depressed about home, only to have Valentina make it up to him in the cutest way possible. The episode ends with a young Sophie waiting for Jesse at their designated restaurant to turn up after she receives a call from the acclaimed gallery curator that her photograph would be put up for exhibition and, the camera cuts to the older Sophie taking a break and, the camera shifts to show us the same picture of Jesse that landed her the first exhibition hung on her wall.
How I Met Your Father Episode 9: Final Thoughts
How I Met Your Father Episode 9 tries to start in a way How I Met Your Mother usually would, with a story not related to the main plotline but, somehow ties in with the theme. This time it was cheating. The episode makes the audience more curious than interested with the ending and, Sophie’s story of ‘how i met your father’ layering out. The episode ends on a cliffhanger note for the viewers to contemplate as the finale knocks on our doors soon.
