House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 1 Recap

In House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 1, we see Rhaenyra mourning the loss of Luke as her allies are out there creating more allies. Aegon II is new on the throne and, is very arrogant and, nowhere kingly. Meanwhile, Alicent is in a forbidden affair with Ser Criston Cole. Mostly things are haywire in the episode, with Otto and Alicent both not understanding how to strengthen their claim on the throne with Aegon acting out and Aemond just looking to go to war.

Once Rhaenyra returns to her council, she demands Aemond. A demand which Daemon tries to fulfil by hiring Blood and Cheese to kill Aemond in the Red Keep. Ultimately, the two kill Jaehaerys when they cannot find Aemond.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 2 Preview

The preview trailer for the weeks ahead has arrived, giving us a sneak peek into what is going to happen in the next episode. We see Aegon visibly angry with the death of his son, Jaehaerys. He is ready to kill them all. And, as much as Rhaenyra is prepared to take on that threat head first, the move by Daemon in the last episode has weakened her claim to the throne. Thus, she no longer is going to trust Daemon.

Harrenhal and, ultimately the Riverlands are going to be the key to winning this war as stated by Ser Criston Cole in the preview trailer. So, we can say that a bloody battle will first take place in the Riverlands. Clearly, Viscerys’ purpose has died with him and, now only a war remains on the land, the air and the sea.
