The new episode picked up from where the last one ended and made quite a lot of revelations that significantly changes the course of the plot. It is more of a plot-focused and story-driven episode which centres around the development of the storyline and characters. It is significantly more emotional and heavier than the rest of the episodes, which sets the tone for how the remaining plot will unfold.

Very often, the story’s focal point has been Kiruko and where she comes from. Her past has a deep-rooted connection with the present that might be able to answer a lot of questions. However, in the latest episode, much attention is given to Maru and especially his super ability to kill man-eaters with just one touch.

During missions, when Maru is asked to kill a man-eater, he seems reluctant and displays hesitation, but he gets the job done because it does not just save his own life but everyone around him. Only this time, he carries the heavy burden of the superpower as he is asked to do something that he never signed up for. Ultimately it takes a toll on him, and for the first time, he displays emotions which profoundly change the audience’s perspective of the character. The character has not only evolved but also is becoming more relatable to the viewers.

Besides the massive character growth, the plot has evolved remarkably and made some consequential revelations. The mystery about the unknown being is finally known to the audience. Not only is the secret out but also the story is better understood and explains a lot of the questionable situations that left us wondering about the reason. Moreover, even though the plot still remains unpredictable; still a few assumptions can be made about the future.

The animation of the series remains top-tier. The amazing camera work and angles add to the storytelling process and seamlessly progress from one scene to the other. Another aspect is the flawless character design that stands out from the rest. The change in the colour palette and tone to showcase different emotions and feelings is done well.

From start to end, there is not a single dull moment throughout the episode. The plot of the episode is hard-hitting and will leave the audience emotional. It is worth mentioning that the voice actors put significant emotions into their characters and bring them to life.
