Succession Season 3 Episode 9: Kendall’s Alive, WaysStar’s Not

Let us get the elephant in the room out, that Succession Season 3 did not kill their major, and the only character you can root for, off. Saved by his PR, Kendall Roy is not exactly a ball of sunshine in episode 9 but, he is no longer going to take the bullshit behaviour everyone keeps giving him. In an emotional confrontation, he recaps to his apparently concerned siblings about the man he killed at Shiv’s wedding and things have only gone down since.

As Kendall has his emotional breakthrough, it is on Roman and Shiv to fend for themselves and the company. But, Logan Roy seems to have other plans. With the increase in GoJo’s market cap, WayStar has really just one way out. But is selling off the company to Lukas Matsson a good deal? Well, before there is a final decision made that includes some betrayal from a character we never thought could think this cunningly, the Roy siblings try their best to make a decision for the family.

Succession Season 3 Episode 9 marks another iconic season finale, leaving everyone’s jaws hanging and recalling the entire season as to how the company and the characters have come to this. This show with such a loud theme about a dysfunctional family is more about business than we expected it to be and that is precisely why the ending seems so similar to how a Succession episode would end but, also unique and unpredictable in certain ways.

Succession Season 3: Final Verdict

Succession Season 3 has been a wild ride that has ended in a wildfire. But, the ending is what makes the anticipation of the upcoming season, even more exciting. The entire dynamics of the show would change if there is a Succession Season 4 and maybe, for once, Logan Roy would not be the ultimate villain in everyone’s eyes.

Throughout the season, the actors have been so phenomenal that when you take them off-screen and watch them someplace else, it is difficult to not associate them with their Succession Character. Kendall’s arc is truly brilliant alongside Logan and Tom’s. It is was difficult to see Greg not get as much attention as we would expect him to given he is a character that has also grown in our hearts the way Succession has.

Starting from set designs to costumes, Succession Season 3 had its ups and downs but, always somehow ended with leaving us speechless and wanting for more. Let’s hope there is a next season to come as one can predict that Alexander Skarsgård could join the show as a permanent cast member, making the show darker than ever.
