God’s Favorite Idiot: All You Need to Know About Netflix’s Workplace Comedy

God’s Favorite Idiot is an upcoming sitcom series to be released on Netflix. This is good news for the fans of the comedy sitcom series as the series is set to be released in June, this week. It is an apocalyptic workplace comedy TV series starring and created by Ben Falcone. The series also stars Melissa McCarthy, who is the real-life partner of Falcone and they have previously worked together in numerous films and projects.

The entire series has 16 episodes, but the creators announced that they would premiere 8 episodes initially. This could mean that they might release the first 8 eight episodes as season one and later release the following 8 as season two. The reason for the division is that the first 8 episodes were filmed first, but then the production was halted due to some reason and resumed later to complete 8 more episodes.

God’s Favorite Idiot Plot/Synopsis

Netflix’s synopsis of the series read – Sweet Clark seems like the last person God would tap to fight evil. He’ll need his office crush and good pals to help spread the word and save the world. Mid-level Tech support employee Clark Thompson (Ben Falcone) falls in love with his co-worker Amily Luck (Melissa McCarthy) and takes her out on a date. But mid-date his whole body starts glowing up like a light bulb. Unwillingly, he becomes the unwitting messenger of God when he gets struck by lightning.

Someone records Clark glowing up incident in the restaurant and posts it on social media which becomes a viral hit, leading to a media frenzy who wants to know what, when and how about his glowing powers. Soon, there’s the appearance of Satan (which is a girl with destructive powers), also the four horsemen of the apocalypse are here, which could only mean an impending apocalypse is right around the corner. Our only hope is Clark Thompson, the chosen beacon to god.
