Go Go Loser Ranger Season 2 Overview
Go! Go! Loser Ranger!, also known as Ranger Reject, is a Japanese manga series created by Negi Haruba, best known for The Quintessential Quintuplets. Since its debut in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in February 2021, the series has grown into a widely celebrated work. It has over 20 million copies in circulation by October 2023. As of April 2025, it has been compiled into 18 tankōbon volumes. It continues to gain popularity for its provocative take on the superhero genre.
The story flips the typical “hero vs. villain” narrative by focusing on a foot soldier from an evil organisation. He rebels against the corrupt superhero squad known as the Dragon Keepers. Tired of playing the part of the loser in a rigged weekly performance, the soldier goes rogue, adopting a human disguise. He then infiltrates the very organisation that oppresses him.

The anime adaptation, produced by Yostar Pictures, first aired from April to June 2024. Directed by Keiichi Sato, with scripts by Keiichirō Ōchi and character designs by Kahoko Koseki. The show quickly captured the manga’s unique energy and layered storytelling. Kenji Hayama also joined the team as the animation supervisor. The anime’s first season concluded on June 30, 2024. A second season followed promptly, premiering on April 13, 2025, as part of the Agaru Anime block on TBS and other JNN affiliates.
The series features an energetic opening theme, “Maji de Sekai Kaechau 5-byō Mae” by Orange Range, and a reflective ending song, “Seigi” by Fukurow note.
Go Go Loser Ranger Season 2 Episode 2 Review

In this episode, many things happen, and we get a bit more information about the boss monsters. Apparently, there has been a Kaiju attack, and some of the Red Rangers found out about it. Before they could clearly mention what was happening, they were all dead. After that, we see D meeting with Hibiki’s sister, where he comes across a very weird stranger who has got himself involved in trouble.
Through this incident, we get to know that people have been getting spirited away without a trace. The police think it was done by that stranger, however, it becomes clear that the boss monsters might be responsible. Later, we find out that D and Usukubo actually got assigned to the green battalion, something that they did not think of. D was sure that he would be assigned to the red battalion, but now that was not possible.

However, this is actually great for him because he realises how he must defeat the boss monsters first before killing the Rangers. The boss monsters are really evil and must be eradicated, and thankfully, the green battalion actually handles information about them.
When they first joined, B and Usukubo were forced to do menial jobs, which they did not like. But they quickly got a lead about a school and some delinquents who were running a gang. This is where things get interesting.
Verdict

Today’s episode was definitely a very enjoyable and engaging one, as it imparted a lot of information. Now we know that there are 12 boss monsters, and the Rangers have only managed to defeat some of them. What D will do and how Hibiki will come into play in all of this is something that we will find out in the next episode.
