Gangubai Kathiawadi: Alia Bhatt on Still Holding the Character Close, Dialoguebaazi and More!

Alia Bhatt is all set to make people fall in love with her powerful performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. The talented actor will be seen on the big screen after quite some time. The excitement and expectations from the film are high as it stars Bhatt in a never seen avatar before. Also, it’s her first collaboration with the very great, Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Gangubai Kathiawadi trailer received a great response from fans. Alia is a force to reckon as Gangubai, a madame from Mumbai’s Kamathipura area who had quite a reputation in the 90s. Leisurebyte asked Bhatt about playing such an intense character who has gone through a stressful and challenging journey. She was asked how she disconnected with Gangubai once the shooting was over.

Alia Bhatt said, “I don’t think I disconnected. I had to shoot for 2 years. I had to hold the character close to me for quite some time. Even sitting at home during Covid for 6 months, I had to go back to shoot. So I kept the character alive with me. So I don’t think it left. After the shoot, I had to dub for a couple of months, and now, the film is releasing! So once the film releases, I may let the character go.”
