Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle Episode 2 Review

In the second episode, our favourite “Students of the Year” arrive for a fun chat with Kajol and Twinkle. With constant bickering and Varun constantly talking about the magic of motherhood, the episode is sweet and showcases how the pair have grown as people and actors.

I think Two Much wants to be an open and quirky show with these two prominent and “fun” hosts, but there’s just something very odd about it that you can feel at every turn. At every moment of the runtime, questions are asked that are not answered fully or honestly, and there’s an air of discomfort among not only the guests but also the actors. You want Kajol and Twinkle to relate to and share their lives with the guests as well, but it never really happens, and the questions asked are returned with surface-level placations and awkward laughs.

I mean, people are obviously open to the more light-hearted, fun situations, but it’s the important discussions that don’t go anywhere. It makes us feel awkward, as if we are forcing these people to talk about issues that they don’t want to talk about and are left to question the point of it all. Of course, there are moments in this episode when the hosts do give their opinions, and those turn out to be not just problematic but also downright distasteful. It’s infuriating watching them laugh about certain topics from a privileged standpoint and giving out opinions that are not only untrue but also damaging.

I think Alia and Varun were quite enjoyable to watch. They have good chemistry, and it’s clear that they are close friends who have a good bond together. I think their answers and opinions are quite relatable, and their bickering, although a bit much, is sweet regardless. It’s a fun episode except for a few moments, and it will be an easy 1 hour to spend.

Final Thoughts

Although it’s best not to give too much importance to a light-hearted chat show, I think I have to mention that bringing people to a chat show promising fun, in-depth conversations and then not delivering on that promise is a bit of a false advertisement. Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle episode 2 is entertaining mostly for the guests, who take us back to the good old SOTY days.
