Flex X Cop Ending Explained: The new series directed by Kim Jae-hong, known for his hits Revenant and written by Kim Ba-da, who is well known for her successful series My Name, is highly welcomed in the Kdrama world. The exceptional collab between the famous director and the writer stars famous actors, Ahn Bo-hyun, Park Ji-hyun, Kang Sang-jun and Kim Shin-bi, in the lead roles. It’s a mix of action, romance, comedy and thriller genres, making the whole watch worthwhile.

Ahn Bo-hyun’s last venture was See You In My 19th Life (2023), Park Ji-hyun was last seen in Reborn Rich (2022), Kang Sang-jun’s ongoing series is Marry My Husband (2024) and Kim Shin-bi’s last work was Revenant (2023).

Flex X Cop Plot

Jin I-soo, born into a third-generation conglomerate, enjoys a life of abundance, devoid of the need for assistance from others. His world takes an unexpected turn when he becomes embroiled in a complex case. Driven by the desire for a new challenge, Jin I-soo makes a surprising decision.

Opting to immerse himself in the gritty world of crime-solving, Jin I-soo joins the Kangha Police Station’s violent investigative team, specialists in apprehending robbers. His motivation is to leverage his wealth and personal connections to make a difference in the field. In this venture, he partners with Detective Lee Gang-hyun, a dedicated and adept investigator known for his smooth-talking skills.

Despite I-soo’s affluent background, Gang-hyun remains indifferent to his presence, setting the stage for a compelling partnership rooted in the pursuit of solving crimes and bringing perpetrators to justice. As they delve into the intricacies of their work, the narrative promises a blend of wealth, intrigue, and the challenges inherent in the world of criminal investigation.

What did the Cop Team Find?

Kang-hyun asked Mr Choi for some help in finding the dashcam of the car that left Myung-cheol’s house on the night of his death. When Mr Choi checks it, he finds the SD card removed. This makes Kang-hyun suspicious of Seung-ju as he’s the only one who could have done it since Heeja, though owning a driving license cannot drive due to intoxication.

Additionally, after Kang-hyun informs her father Hyung-jun about the missing sleeping pills, he digs through the old files of Kim’s case and realises that there were unidentified children’s fingerprints. He finds the evidence case and sends the list to the forensic team to find out whose fingerprints those two are since now it would have been registered.

How did I-soo Suspect Seung-ju?

When his cop team talks about Seung-ju’s involvement, he gets mad and furious. However, when he checks with Heeja’s driver who was working with her 25 years ago, he gets information from him about Seung-ju leaving the house on the night of I-soo’s mother’s death. I-soo also learns that the young Seung-ju met with an accident that night. I-soo requests Kang-hyun to find where Seung-ju met with an accident 25 years ago. Kang-hyun confirms that it was at Gangha-dong, the place where I-soo lived with his late mother.

I-soo then questions about Seung-ju visiting his mother that night to which Seung-ju denies. Mr Choi overhears all of this. I-soo feels it weird as he knows Seung-ju is lying. When he returns to the station he finds the forensic report stating that the fingerprint on the juice glass belonged to Seung-ju. I-soo picks up a gun and leaves for his home.

What did Mr Choi Do?

Mr Choi frames every piece and understands that Seung-ju is the real criminal. He speaks with Seung-ju and warns him about the circumstances. He also says that he doesn’t deserve this chairman position and that I-soo will bring him down. Seung-ju immediately fires Mr Choi. Seung-ju then leaves for the hospital as he hears about his mother’s self-harm.

How and Why Did Seung-ju kill I-soo’s Mother?

I-soo calls Seung-ju to his house that night and offers him juice. Seung-ju was startled. I-soo then questions Seung-ju in a way that pisses him off and he reminisces about the night he killed I-soo’s mother. Apparently, Seung-ju got to know that Myung-cheol was going to divorce his mother and marry Kim. Seeing his mother’s condition, Seung-ju visited Kim to plead with her not to marry Myung-cheol.

Kim does assure Seung-ju that she won’t marry him. When she goes to cook some food for him, Seung-ju notices calls and messages from Myung-cheol on Kim’s phone. Worried about his mother and his future, the young Seung-ju mixes sleeping pills into Kim’s juice and watches her sip and collapse. He then takes her unconscious body to the bathtub, fills it with water and runs away. That is when he meets with a car accident.

What Happened to Seung-ju after he was arrested?

I-soo makes Seung-ju realise his mistake and the cops arrest him. They give Seung-ju a life sentence and he watches his mother looking at him with shame and regret. News spreads about his involvement in two murders, one 25 years ago and the recent one, all for the sole position of the Hansu Group.

I-soo takes care of Hansu operations for quite a while but on the day of the inauguration ceremony, he gives the chairman position to Mr Choi and decides to work in the police force with his team. The team also feels extremely happy that he’s back and they all go ahead with their new case.
