Firefly Lane Season 2 Trailer has been released by Netflix, where we might finally know the reason behind Kate and Tully’s fallout. The drama series is created by Maggie Friedman and is based on the novel of the same name by Kristin Hannah. The first season saw Kate and Tully meet as young girls and become inseparable best friends throughout thirty years of ups and downs, successes and failures, depression and disappointments.
But when an unthinkable betrayal breaks them apart, the two women go their separate ways and it’s unclear whether they will ever be able to reconcile. Starring Katherine Heigl as Tully and Sarah Chalke as Kate, while Ali Skovbye and Roan Curtis play their teenage version.
The official synopsis of the series reads, “For Kate and Tully, no obstacle is too big when it comes to their lifelong friendship. But is there one mistake that could tear them apart forever?” Tully and Kate’s 30-year-strong bond has always felt unbreakable, but at the end of the first season, we learned that something had, in fact, come between the besties.

In Season 2, we’ll find out exactly what could potentially end that decades-long friendship. We see Kate grapples with the painful aftermath of Johnny’s ill-fated trip to Iraq, while Tully faces a lawsuit after walking away from her talk show, and must start her career over from the bottom.
This leads her to search for answers about who she is and where she comes from – including a quest to find the father she never met, against the wishes of her secretive hippie mother, Cloud. In the 80s, we see Kate and Johnny first fall in love, creating more than a little drama in the newsroom where they work, as Tully’s career rises and she spars and maybe even flirts with cocky sportscaster Danny Diaz.
She just might have met her match – that is if they can stop arguing for five minutes. While in the 70s, teenage Kate and Tully struggle to keep their friendship together as Cloud goes to jail for dealing drugs and Tully goes to live with her grandmother, far away from Firefly Lane. As the girls face the tumult of high school apart, they know the one thing they really need is each other.
