Ichigo’s Broken Sword Gets an Unexpected Lifeline in Bleach TYBW
Not all hope was lost as Nanao comes in to save everyone, and she heals Orihime first. The moment Orihime manages to stand, she goes to fix Ichigo’s sword. When Nanao goes to save Ichigo, it becomes clear that all hope is lost because his sword is not getting mended, and he’s also not mentally ready for a fight. However, that is when an unexpected character comes into play and pretty much saves the day.
Tsukishima, with his powers, changes the fact that the sword was broken in the past, and that makes it possible for Orihime to heal Tensa Zangetsu and get it back to its original form. Ichigo could also rush to the spot where he must engage with Yhwach before he could destroy everything.
Aizen’s Kyoka Suigetsu Fails to Stop Yhwach
The wait is over, and we finally see Aizen fighting for the heroes as he becomes one of the most important characters who manages to stop Yhwach in his tracks, at least temporarily. Aizen welcomes Yhwach to his Soul Society and tells him his reason for fighting against the Quincy King. The Quincy King literally tells Aizen how it is against his nature to help Ichigo against him. According to the Quincy King, their goals literally align.
However, Aizen makes it clear that he doesn’t like Yhwach precisely because he thinks Yhwach is trying to control him. And one thing is certain: Aizen does not like anyone telling him what to do. That is why he engages with Yhwach, and a fight ensues. However, Yhwach was clearly way too much for Aizen to handle. His attacks did not really affect the Quincy King that much, and even his Kyoka Suigetsu could not do much because Yhwach sees everything with The Almighty power.
Renji Gets a Welcome Spotlight as He Pushes Ichigo to Fight Back
In this episode, Renji was showcased in a more positive light. He didn’t come off as a strong opponent for Yhwach, but he did push Ichigo to do better. The Soul Reaper also motivated Ichigo to get his bearings together and fight. Even though he did not have a great impact, he was still given a decent amount of spotlight in this episode.
Final Thoughts
This episode does a great job of showcasing just how bad the situation is. Yhwach is on his way to destroy all the three worlds and he can definitely do it because of his menacing powers. However, Aizen fans might not be very happy with how his entry was showcased. It actually did not change anything from the manga. The fight between Aizen and Yhwach went on exactly as the source material depicted.
Now, Tite Kubo added a lot of anime-original scenes for other characters in the previous episodes; fans expected the same treatment for Aizen. However, that did not happen. On top of that, fans will have to wait a long time to finally see what would happen in the end. I personally think that Aizen’s entry and his segments could have been depicted in a better way. Despite that, this was still a really good episode, and the small criticisms only highlighted how strong the series had been overall, with very little to complain about.
